The snow is deeper now. The woods more full. Wind blows through the trees as branches fall from the sky.
"Fucking Frozen!" Echoes through the wind. I stop dead in my tracks. Who the fuck in their right mind would be way out here?! The interstate isn't even close to here! I look around but nothing in sight except trees.
I continue walking along a bare path. I slap limbs from trees and and stampede forward. Finally! I look around at all the beautiful fur trees.
"Which one of you beautiful things are coming home with me?" I chuckle.
It's been four years since my beautiful April passed away. I haven't been with nor seen a women since. That was my reason for moving way the fuck out here to bum fuck egypt. After that heart break I couldn't stand to see another women. So brittle. Fucking life.
I look around. A tree in the middle of the Forrest, barely touched by snow stares back at me. I smile alittle. Fuck Christmas. I slip the ax from my shoulder and start cutting the tree. Three strikes and it falls over blowing snow into the air.
A soft voice whispers from the trees just beyond. "Elle, Ellevone Mores." I stand straight and set my ax down. Listening. Silence falls. I step forward past the tree. I trug through the snow past a couple maples.
My heart stops dead in middle of a beat. A woman with beautiful brown curly hair, cuddled up, wrapped in a blanket lay against the tree trunk. A backpack to her side. I step closer and over a pile of snow. Her face beautifully round, reddened by the brisk wind. I'm lost for words.
Damn it Beckem speak! See if she's okay!
"Hello?" I ask. The bundle doesn't move. Oh my fucking God she's dead! I step closer. "Elle?" I ask recalling the soft voice's name.
The bundle stirs awake.
