I dot my last sentence and save my page. Closing my word document I sigh. Rain starts beating the window with no sign of remorse. My phone starts to vibrate.
"Hello?" I answer. "Ellevone Mores. Where the hell are you this time? Stuck in the woods?" Chris's voice beats my ear drum. "I still haven't left! Jesus Christ Chris." I scream as I lay my hand on my bloated belly. "Elle, don't scream like that you'll deafen your son." Chris boasts. I sigh "I'll be leaving her soon. I'll be there when I get there." I hang up. I pull myself off my couch and drag myself to the door. I grab my purse and keys and lock the door behind me as I leave.
I slide into Chris's Chevy Truck he gave me since I had to junk my poor car. Oh well that piece of shit.Sword and Scale plays over the speakers. Lately music isn't my thing. Podcasts is what it's all about. I have been going up twists and winds for the past three hours. I slow up and turn my radio down a little. I look around me at the woods on the mountain. This area is all too familiar. Driving at twenty five miles an hour I come across a drive way to my right. So I take it.
I slow down even more because who knows of the deer are out yet. I follow it for a few minutes and then slow to almost a stop as the cabin comes into view. My heart drops. Nothings changed. The wood is still in the wagon, the ax by the door. The only thing different is the garden is tore up and a shovel on the door.
I stop and put the truck in park. I slide myself off the seat and close the door.
"Hello?" I feel as though I'm speaking to myself. "Hello?" I yell again. The sky is clear up here unlike in Portland. I remove my phone. Four bars are present. I smile inside.
All of a sudden the cabin door creeks open and in it stands a tall, built man with brown hair and matching beard stands in the door way. His muscles busting out of his time shirt, and his pants so tight his bulge is huge.
Warmth comes over me as I stare back at him. Moments pass with no words spoken. Just silence. Cedar comes running full force out of the cabin as the scent of fish fills my nostrils. I purse my lips but end up smiling. Beckem walks then speed walks to me. He grabs me and pulls me into him and kisses my lips like he's never kissed a woman before in his life. I wrap my arms around his neck and fall into him.
My legs feeling like they are about to give out. Just like the first time he ever kissed me. My heart speeds up and I can't help but lose a tear.
"Elle, I've been waiting to see when you would come-" He stops and pulls away a little looking at my bulged stomach. I put my head down looking at my stomach since I'm so fucking fat I can't see the ground.
He sets his fingers under my chin and draws me back in to his lips. "To come back." He finally finishes.
"I'm so sorry! I have had so much going on, and to be honest I am surprised to have even found you here." I melt.
