"Percy! What the hades are you doing here." I asked "In case you didn't know this is an all girls school"
"Oh!" He said.
"Guys, seriously! What the hell is happening?" Alyssa asked me. The poor girl's brain is probably in over drive.
I took a deep breath and faced her. "Umm. Well you know all those greek myths."
"Yeah."
"Um well, the thing is those aren't exactly myths. The greek gods are real." I replied.
"Just one question. So when you told me you were been chased by a Minotaur in his underwear you weren't joking?" She asked me and Percy stifled a laugh.
"Basically, yes" I answered.
"What's your name?" Percy asked Alyssa.
"Alyssa. Alyssa Rivers."
They locked eyes and something passed between them. For the first time I realised how similar they were. They both had black hair, although Alyssa's was longer and curlier. They both had sea green eyes and a determined look.
I cleared my throat ('cause it was getting awkward.) and they both looked at me. "So, as I was saying, well you know how demigods are children of the gods?"
"Yeah, but what has that gotta do with...Hold it! You mean you two are demigods?" Alyssa asked. She looked as if she was about to faint. Well I guess it's a lot to process that the greek gods are real.
"Yeah, I am Percy Jackson and this one over here," Percy said as he pointed his sword at me and glared. "She's a daughter of Hermes."
"Oh, sorry Percy, are you still mad me because me and the Stolls played a trick on you?" I asked sweetly.
I looked over at Alyssa, "I'll tell you later about The Great Percy Jackson's Failure at being a chicken."
Percy scowled at me.
"Anyway, we need to get you to Camp Half Blood" he said changing the subject.
"Camp what?" Alyssa asked utterly confused.
"Camp Half Blood, it's one of the only two places that is safe for people like us, demigods." Percy explained to her.
"But why do I need to go? I'm not a demigod." Alyssa said.
"Really? You can see through the mist, you have ADHD and dyslexia, and there is a strong power radiating off you. You are obviously a demigod." I explained to her. She was taking the news pretty well.
Alyssa drew in a long breath. "Okay. So how do we get there?"
Percy grinned, "Glad you asked."
He whistled and waited. Pretty soon three Pegasi landed on the ground near us.
"We'd better hurry before the school finds out that you're missing." Percy said as he mounted a pure black Pegasus. I mounted a white one with a brown mane.
"Oh no, no, no, and no. I am not going to ride a Pegasus." Alyssa said. Her face was going pale.
"Why not? Alyssa are you ok?" I asked her.
"No. I'm not. I'm um sorta scared of heights." She said looking down embarrassed. Ohh, the poor thing.
"Come on it'll be alright. I'll make sure the horse doesn't tip you over." Percy reassured her.
Since he was a son of Poseidon he could talk to horses and I guesses that was what he was referring to.
Alyssa mustered up her courage and mounted the horse, a beige horse with a black mane and we took off.
