She thought it would never be possible. Only people who found the one saw color. After so many failed attemps, she thought she would never find someone pull her out from the dull world she was trapped in. She remained in a world of grey, and she was prepared to stay that way.
Kara saw what she never did, Kryptonians not having the same effects to love as humans. She knew each color of the rainbow, and beyond. Alex wanted to see the world from Kara's eyes desperately.
The sisters sat on the couch in the large apartment, a random rom-com playing on the television. Kara stood up and walked into the kitchen, looking for her Ben&Jerry's. "Kara, toss me an apple?"
She grabbed an apple, and it was soon flying through the air. But something happened; something with the apple changed. It was almost as if it gained light, but it only remained for a monent, and Alex thought she was just imagining it.
She didn't feel well. She bid Kara farewell, and she rode home, cheeks burning as the cold air slammed against them. Alex didn't feel well at all.

The next morning, Alex woke up to a blaring alarm, telling her it was time for work. She slowly sat up, forgetting all about last night's event and continued on her way to the DEO.
Supergirl was called to an alien sighting in a park nearby, but as she left, Alex noticed Kara's cape change, the same way as the apple did. Color.
When Kara arrived back at the DEO, Alex pulled her into a small room and locked the door. "Kara, what color is your cape?"
Kara looked at her sister with confusion worn across her face. "My cape is red... Why'd you ask?"
"Like an apple?"
"Alex what are yo- Oh my god.... Oh my god, Alex!! Who is it, the one?"
Alex looked down at her feet, not knowing how to respond. "I-I don't know who.. I haven't met anyone new.."
"Alex, you'll figure out who it is okay? I promise." The two embrace in a hug, then go their separate ways for the day.

That night, Alex found herself at the alien bar, sitting alone, sipping her second beer. Well, she was alone, until Maggie Sawyer appeared. They talked for a while, and played the innevitable round of pool.
Maggie lined up her cue, bending over the table. Alex found her eyes wandering downwards, her eyes getting lost at Maggie's ass. They wander up to her face, catching sight of the way her tongue sticks out slightly when she's concentrating, the crease inbetween her eyebrows, her dimples as she smiles as the 11-ball falls into the back-left socket.
Maggie looks up, to catch Alex staring. She lightly chuckles, snapping her back to reality. "Your turn, Danvers."
Alex's mind was wondering off to foreign places, creating ideas she'd never had before. She cleared her brain and focused on the cue ball, aiming to hit the 8-ball into the middle-right socket, beating Maggie once again. She looked up at her, Maggie taking a sip of her beer.
They ended the night there, standing outside with their bikes, helmets in hand. "I'll see you tomorrow?" Alex questions the brunette.
"Absolutely." Maggie pulls the taller woman into a hug, and when they let go, their eyes stare into each other, a little too long to just be friends.
Maggie's the one who initiates it. Cups a hand on Alex's jaw, stands on her toes, and presses their lips together. Alex is frozen, but melts into Maggie, kissing back and enjoying the new feeling. They separated, and Maggie smiled and walked away. The smaller woman hopped on her bike, and sped away into the distance.
Alex already missed her. Alex missed the feeling of her lips on Maggie's. Alex hadn't known that she herself liked girls.

As she awoke the next morning, things were different. Her eyes opened, and she was in the same bedroom she fell asleep in, except it looked almost unrecognizable. She was seeing color.
She grasped her phone, frantically calling Kara. She needed to talk to someone who knew what she was seeing. She needed someone to know how she was feeling. She was seeing color.
Before her phone even reached a fifth ring, Kara was standing at her bedroom door, a worried look on her face. That look quickly eased as she saw the bright smile on her older sister's face. "Kara, I'm seeing color."
Alex explained it all; how she kissed
Maggie, how she realized that she likes girls, how she knows who her soulmate is. Kara was so happy for Alex.As the day went on, Alex couldn't stop from anticipating seeing Maggie again. She missed Maggie. More than she thought she could. It wasn't until an alien attack in downtown National City that they were brought together.
After lots of time and hardwork, the rouge alien was taken in by the DEO, and Alex could finally talk to Maggie. "My place, 8:00. I need to talk to you."
"See you then, Danvers."

Alex couldn't tear her eyes from the clock with the yellow-glowing numbers. It flashed out 7:59pm and Alex was getting jittery; her hands shook and sweat. The subtle knock at the door broke her out of her daze.
She got up from the couch and walked slowly over to the door, opening it to reveal Maggie with a box of pizza and two bottles of beer. "Hey."
"Hey, come in," Alex replied, backing away to give her a walkway. Maggie placed the food on the island and sat down on one of the chairs. "You wanted to talk?"
"Yeah I did..." Alex hestitantly sat down in the chair next to her, resting her fidgetting hands in her lap. "I wanted to talk about last night.."
"About that, I'm sorry if I jumped to that yoo fast I di-"
"Maggie, shut up and let me speak. It wasn't too soon, if anything, it took too long. I had no idea that I liked girls, and it scared me to think that maybe I do. But now looking back at everything, it should've been so obvious. And Maggie, I'm seeing color. I saw every color when I woke up this morning. You kissed me and I saw color. It scares me, but I want to do this Maggie if you do too."
"Alex that was a lot.."
"I know, I'm sorry, and you can leave if y-"
"Alex," Maggie laughs, "just shut up." She puts her hands around Alex's waist and pulls her closer. "I see color too and I would love to give it a go with you."
Maggie smiles, dimples shining bright on her face. Alex brushes her fingers through Maggie's hair and pushes it out her face. She dips her head down and presses her lips against the shorter woman's. Maggie grabs her elbows, pulling them closer together.
They kiss. And kiss. Hands brush across necks and arms, lips press against lips. And when they finaly break apart, the world glows in vibrant colors.
