YOUR P.O.V.

I hate having P.E. outside when it's cold, but we still do it even when we have a perfectly good gym inside. So against my will, I kicked the soccer ball to the person next to me. She kicked it back and I dribbled it past a few guys before I got to the goal. I kicked the ball as hard as I could, but missed. "You suck at this." My best friend murmured next to me.

"Shut up." I scowled.

She raised her eyebrows as a boy went to go get the ball and throw it in. I recognized the kid. It was Ponyboy Curtis. We went to elementary school together. He sits next to me in History. I thought he was really cute, but he's too cute for me. He doesn't even know who I am I bet.  I know a couple of other greaser girls like me who are just dying to have Ponyboy be their boyfriend. He threw the ball in and everyone sprinted towards it. I didn't move, though. I was lost in thought, staring at Ponyboy. Suddenly I realized that he was looking back. I quickly flicked my eyes away and brushed a lock of my hair behind my ear. I heard him chuckle and I glanced back up. He was smiling at me. I quickly looked back down and started to make my way back over to where the ball was being kicked.

When I got there, I got the ball and started running with it switching between my feet as it swept along the ground. I kept my eyes on the ground, and watched as a soc girl put out her foot in front of me. Before I could stop, I tripped over her leg and fell to the ground. The girl and her friends erupted with laughter and someone else got the ball. I laid on the ground on my back. I hit my head on the ground when I fell and it stung real bad. I listened as everyone left me to go run for the ball that was now out of my possession.

I closed my eyes tight, then opened them again. To my surprise, there was someone standing there. It was Ponyboy. "Need a hand?" He asked with a soft smile on his face.

I hesitated for a moment, then took the hand he was offering. "Thanks." I said as he pulled me up to my feet.

When I stood, my head stung and I got dizzy. I stumbled and Pony caught me in his arms. "Woah, you okay?" He asked concerned. I clung to his arm as I regained my balance. I touched the back of my head and felt warm liquid. I winced at the sting of my touch and looked at my hand now coated with blood. "We should get you to the nurse." He said lifting me back onto my feet.

I nodded.  He put his arm around me and held me up as we walked off the field. I looked at him as we walked towards the doors to the school. His eyes were bright and happy. His face was glistening with sweat from playing and his hair was messy and loose, coated in grease.

He smiled down at me and I couldn't help but smile slightly. I kept my eyes low. I glanced up at him, and stumbled while doing so. "C'mon y/n, don't give up on me now." He chuckled

I swooned over his cuteness. "How do you know my name?" I asked regaining my balance.

He opened his mouth to speak, but closed it with a smile. "We sit next to each other in History." He smirked. "I copy your notes sometimes."

I was amazed that he actually knew who I was. When we reached the door, he pulled it open and I walked unsteadily. We walked down the hallway in a comfortable silence. "Does it hurt much?" He asked.

"What?" I furrowed my eyebrows.

"Your head?"

"Oh yeah," I reached up to my head feeling like an idiot. "A little."

He chuckled again and my heart skipped a beat. "You're cute." He smiled, showing his dimples.

My heart sped up so much I thought he might be able to hear it beat. I blushed and bite my lip to keep me from smiling too much. We reached the nurse's office and I told her what happened. She started to clean the cut on my head and it made me wince. It had stopped bleeding for the most part, but it still stung like crazy. "You can go back to class now young man." The nurse said to Pony as she sorted through some things in a cabinet.

I didn't want Pony to go. I wanted him to stay with me. He glanced down at me for a second, then back at the nurse. "I'd like to stay if I can ma'am." He pressed his lips together.

The nurse stopped what she was doing and narrowed her eyes him. "Now don't cause trouble, get back to class."

My heart sank and I looked up at him. His face was a little disappointed. "How about we go to the Dingo after school then?" He asked me. I was speechless. Ponyboy Curtis wanted to go out with me? "Just because our time was cut short now."

"Sure." I smiled brightly. "See you then."

He smiled and let out a breath of relief. He walked out and right when he thought he was out of earshot he yelled: "YES!"

I giggled, and the nurse couldn't help but smile. I bit my lip and forgot all about the pain searing in the back of my head.
