He was on me again.
Some part of me knew that I was dreaming, but I couldn't shake the memory from my mind. Brad and I were down in that dark alleyway again, and I was helplessly screaming for no one to come and save me.
'Don't touch me!'
I screamed the meaningless words over and over to no one but myself.
Sweat running down the back of my neck was the first thing I noticed when I woke up. The second thing I noticed was that I was wrapped in Blake's arms. His elbow was poking one of my ribs, but I didn't really care. My face was buried in his chest and I could feel his warm breath tickling the top of my head. Blake's thumb was gently rubbing back and forth on my shoulder comfortingly while humming some kind of slow tune I couldn't quite recognize.
"What are you humming?"
His thumb stopped moving and he leaned away from me a bit to look into my eyes.
"Your awake?"
"No. I'm still sleeping."
He rolled his eyes and then he frowned, looking like something was bothering him. I raised my eyebrow up at him and mimicked his frown.
"You kept talking in your sleep… and crying."
My eyes widened and I quickly looked down and snuggled closer to him hiding my face.
"Sorry…"
Blake placed a hand on my back and rubbed it soothingly, making sure not to touch any injured areas, which there went many of.
"Breakfast in bed?"
I looked up and smiled at him.
"I'd like that."
He got up slowly from the bed making sure not to shake it around too much.
"What do you want me to make you?"
I frowned at him disbelievingly.
"MAKE me? As in, you can cook?"
He looked down and scratched the back of his neck before looking back up.
"What do you want me to pickup at Dunk's?"
I smiled and let out a giggle before realizing what pain it would cause me. My stomach twisted and I felt nausea hit me fully-blown all at once.
"You alright?"
I looked up into Blake's worried eyes scanning my face as I tried not to wince.
All I could do was nod my head.
"You still want me to pick something up for you at Dunkin Donuts?"
My stomach had a weird feeling to it. I wasn't sure if it was from the pain, or from my starvation and how every time he mentioned food my mouth would water.
"Yeah, a Mint Hot chocolate, and one of those Boston cream donuts sounds really good right about now."
"Alright, are you going to be okay while I'm gone?"
"Well… If I pass out, I'll call you."
I held back a smile as best I could while Blake's face stayed totally neutral.
"Very funny. I should be back in a little while, If you need anything, don't be afraid to call."
I nodded my head once and closed my eyes as I herd Blake close the door behind him.
So many things rushed though my mind as I laid on my bed silently, all alone. Re-plays of last night refused to harass the inside of my mind. I pinched my stomach hard once, and the pain seared through me. It was enough physical pain to make me forget the emotional.
