A lot of defenseless people knew the cost of bringing a child into the world , as soon as they turned twelve their name would be thrown into a bowl full of children who knew nothing better .Their purity would be turned into cold blooded murder and one out of twenty four families would get their child back from those blood thirsty games . But little did they know their child was already gone .The old them died in that arena among all the others .
Nina knew what was going to happen to her , her parents told her as soon as she turned eleven a year before she could get reaped .She wasn't from a career district , far from it . she grew up in district 5 a some what peaceful and productive strict that had one sole purpose . Power , it was responsible for generating power to the entire nation of Panem .
Thankfully with some luck Nina survived her first reaping at twelve , then at thirteen , fourteen and fifteen but she knew her chances were slimming more and more as pieces of paper with her name were being thrown into the reaping pool.
And at sixteen it just so happened to be her , you see it was not fate .
Nina simply volunteered . Stupidly for a twelve year old she didn't even know however the screams from her mother were enough to show that there was no way she would've made it .But maybe Nina could , she had some tricks up her sleeve for the almighty president Snow and it was finally time to show them all what Nina Bassett could finally do .
