"What the hell do you mean you won't come back ? the reaping's in three days " Sam slightly shouted.
"What I mean is I know Snow's potential and I know for a fact that this letter is not as innocent as it seems " she justified .
Nina peered at the clock the letter specifically mentioned to be at the capitol at noon and if she did not leave now , she would be late .
In spur she flung her arms around Sam , who was still clutching the letter in his hands " Please take care of Teddy please I know the chances are slim but I could always happen "
And just like that she was out of the door no crying , no sadness .Just terrified as to what is coming .

Upon arriving it was the same amazing city , not because of the people but because of bright it shone under such darkness . She remembered arriving here scared in the same train when she volunteered with no hope of coming back .
She remembered being terrified , but amazed how it was a different world and the same look she carried when she was coming back.
Outside she was met with Ruby who squealed upon her arrival and next thing she knew she was in Snow's mansion sitting in a stone cold chair . Although the chair was padded with the finest velvet she felt cold . The whole place was cold to be fair it matched his snow persona and all .
She felt like his beady eyes burned into hers and his smug smile was twisted and cunning ." Ah Miss Bassett I invited you today to propose an offer "
She shifted in her seat before speaking "is this a proposal I have to take ?"
"quite so , or if you preffer the harder way " he smirked in a sickening way that made Nina's stomach churn.
She calmly exhaled "What is it ?"

She must have felt it coming sooner or later she knew there was no escape .There are two routes after becoming a victor , one you get murdered in the arena or two , you live too long in trauma to receive even more of it .
You don't win the games you simply survive them.
Nina stumbled out of the mansion in pure state of shock , her mind jolting and tears prickling. She couldn't find her way back to the hotel . It felt like every corner she was taking was the same one she passed .
With only three days till reaping day , was she going to make it ? for all she's the only district 5 female victor so she would have to , right ?
And Teddy her poor brother now partly having to grow up without her and how it's his first ever reaping and shes not even sure she can go and comfort him like she would do when his younger self had nightmares. How she would stroke his disheveled hair and hold him tightly until he would fall asleep again .
There were just some thing's in life that had to be done . No matter how good or bad they were they had to be done , and it just so happened to be her .
"I'm sorry " Those were the first things she heard upon arriving to her old current room .Ruby was sat at the end of the bed her head bowed and in her arms was a black mini dress .The dress already looked like it was going to hug her in all her flaws , but she didn't care it's not like she was going to wear it for long.
Nina yawned and moved her way to her room " someone has to do it " she called .
"Actually , you have to go tonight " Ruby's voice who used to be full of excitement and high pitches occasionally now turned so small like pray getting hunted , too afraid to make the slightest noise .
Nina's heart thumped so loudly in her chest she was afraid even Snow could hear it in his lavish mansion and cackling loudly , but once again she did not have a choice .
"oh , okay " She gently took the dress from Ruby's hands steadying her hands so they would not shake so much.Putting on the dress she had her doubts but they were quickly dismantled by the consequences she would have to face if she didn't go.
Ruby mentioned to her that the apartment was two blocks away and there would be no point taking a car , but that was okay it gave her time to admire the city that looked so innocent .
Her feet walked at a steady pace and her jacket clung to her like a protective blanket which she could do with .Her mind flooded back to Finnick who she hasn't seen in months , she remembered how she ran with him through the dawn of the streets and how he showed her something beautiful in the midst of so much ugly .
She almost smiled.She had no clue where he could be for all she knew he could be at a ravish party which seemed like a obvious answer.
But her mood dropped among arriving up the apartment blocks , they seemed to stretch on for a while and the inside looked just as fancy as the outside . Chandeliers were hung and floors polished , It made Nina want to be sick all over those floors .
And there she was arriving at some sick guy's apartment just so he could pay her for something she does not want to do , something that made her sick to her stomach. Nina was being made into a Capitol rag puppet , the word doesn't need to be said does it ?
And sometimes she thought what would of been the best way to die in that arena .
