As the sun began to venture its way up into the sky Nina took a hesitant pause .
Then another .Until her eyes widened in panic and the situation sunk in - she was going to be late and Ruby would most likely rip her head off .She withdrew her arms of the ledge of the building and took one more long lasting look towards the city which was waking up , before darting ever so gracefully towards the stairwell .
Her fingers slid down the barrier as fast as they could and so far , Nina was impressed that her clumsy antics hadn't taken over .
"Wait , where are you going" Finnick called from the top looking down towards a hysterical Nina .
At the sound of his voice she took a pause and stopped dead in her tracks before calling up calmly : " Finnick what day is it today ?"
There was a moment of hesitation before he answered again " uh - Monday I suppose why?"
"yes Monday , but what in particular is significant about today " She have a slight smile at his answer but it was gone in the blink of an eye .
" Oh - I see "
And the penny drops she thought .
There was a slight pause before she heard the familiar tapping noise of Finnick's shoes hitting the tiles bellow . After all being a victor had its perks and he was by Nina's side in an instant .
"Oh god Ruby is going to kill me " she muttered , placing both her hands in her face to highlight how dramatic she was being .
"Your escort ? " He replied back , slightly amused which made Nina give a loud groan back - not moving from her position .
The pair managed to make it out into the now bustling street and she couldn't help but look in awe , the shops now over flowed with all sorts of people . Cars flowed through the streets in a hurry and Nina took a double take at some of the outfits she had seen .
However upon mildly judging whilst doing so she could not notice but to panic as to what she was wearing . Still in pyjamas her anxiety grew , not only would she be standing out from the crowd but she was barefoot too . She decided to blame Finnick anyways .
To say the least , Nina was looking like the greatest mess in Panem , making her way downtown with a handsome capitol darling . Finnick upon noticing her worries took it within him to quickly shrug off his jacket that he was wearing and hand it over to Nina - as sanctuary.
She took It graciously and slipped it over , pulling his hood up to cover her self . Although the jacket was pretty much aired out , she could still smell the faint lingering of alcohol and after shave - which she didn't mind .
