Nina's pace picked up as she and Finnick got to the near top of the staircase , her intake of breath increasing as she climbed her way up . She wasn't so sure why she and Finnick didn't take the elevator but that didn't matter as soon as she saw the final view .

the sun was at it's last breath as it diluted into the darkness . The looming darkness that lay ahead behind the buildings in the capitol was no where near to where she and Finnick were standing .

Instead what her eyes beheld in front of her was the peak of the night , her face reflected the crystal shine of the stars as she stared in awe .

Of course she had seen the stars , it wasn't a myth in district 5 that you get them too . But they were usually faint and covered by the smoke and fumes , but they were there . However here they seemed at their brightest point the buildings only added to their aurora helping to illuminate the the sky as a whole .

Next to her Finnick wore the same expression . He saw the stars every night when he was in the Capitol but it wasn't the stars.

It her was .

"you're staring " She kept her gaze at the sky rather than turning to him .

"I am "

Nina could smack the smug smile he had right off his pretty face . but she could admit it warmed her heart to see him smile . But it's something She wouldn't admit it out loud .

She turned to face him placing her small hands on the railing behind her steadying her self . Warmth started to blossom in Nina's chest erupting into tiny butterflies making their way up to her throat causing her to become mute.

They were uncomfortably close , so close she was sure she could hear his heartbeat at an unsteady pace . Just then Nina could notice all his features , how his hair swept upwards and leaned to the sides randomly and how his green eyes sparkled at night when he was with her .

She wanted to laugh , to say how ridiculous the situation was but she couldn't.

Because she was deeply infatuated by him .

And by deep Finnick cupped Nina's face in his hands and leaned in close , their lips brushed together tentatively and deciding enough was enough Finnick closed the gap.

His lips were soft like silk and tasted like home , his warmth consumed her whole and she didn't want him to stop . She didn't want to open her eyes so she focused on the way his cologne smelt against her and how he grasped her waist so strongly , yet it was delicate and how her hands were now making their way through his hair and make shifting roughly .

The now somber clouds that dotted the exposed stars now blanketed the sky , it grew darker and more solemn and ominous near to ruining their frail moment .

Then in his embrace she felt it . A drop of rain first she was not bothered but it spit and then the tension grew abrupt as it started to heave down with rain . Put the two stood planted till eventually their clothes were soaked to the core and the body heat was lost .

The two broke apart and suddenly it was like Nina could not breathe again , but she regained it and smiled at Finnick who instead burst out an uncontrollable laugh .

"So we're like a cliche now ?" He asked in between breathes ,

" I won't mind as long as all the others are with you " She smiled .

" Wow Nina if you wanted a date you could of just asked "
