"Start your tests," Mr. Parker instructs leading to the sound of twenty pieces of paper being turned over.
This test was probably one of the most important test in this class. This is the semifinal for Calculus and I swear if i don't pass this I might just go jump off a bridge. This test will be 30% of the grade I need to get the scholarship I need for college. If I don't get that scholarship I don't get to go to college at all.
Just as I think nothing could go wrong a tall lanky blue haired boy that has sat in the back all year walks into class late and sits next to me in the last available seat. How is he even allowed in this class? I hope he doesn't bother me.
I continue taking the test just as before. Everything seems fine. Then, the table starts shaking. My own wobbles and my hand writing turns shaky. What the hell? I turn to see who's shaking the desk to see the boy tapping his foot making his knee hit the desk.
I try to distract myself but it's not working. He's messing up my hand writing and my concentration. What if I try to write a nine but Mr. Parker reads it as a four and the question is marked wrong? No, I will not stand for that.
"Could you stop shaking the desk?" I whisper to the boy next to me.
"Sorry," he mumbles stopping right away.
I let out a sigh of relief feeling my frustration lessen. I focus back on the test I'm taking and erase the shaky writing so I can rewrite it. Just as I'm almost done rewriting the boy starts tapping his fingers on the desk.
It's not bad. He's not shaking the table. I can take this I try to tell myself. I take a second to breathe in and out trying to stay focused. This boy can't be serious.
"Stop tapping," I mumble with my jaw clenched.
"Sorry."
He stops again but somehow finds away to annoy me again. He starts playing with his zipper. He opens and closes it as he writes down answers.
"You can't be serious," I groan getting his attention.
"I'm sorry?"
"Lily! Flynn! Come here!" Mr. Parker announces and my eyes widen.
Shit. This can't be happening. It's not my fault the tall lanky blue haired asshole was annoying me. I hope I don't get detention.
We both stand up and walk over to his desk. My hands shake nervously. What if I get suspended?
"I wasn't cheating," I try to assure Mr. Parker.
"I don't care. There's no talking during my tests. Please get your tests and your stuff," he instructs.
"We're sorry Mr. Parker. It won't happen again," The boy states.
"You can finish your tests during lunch detention today," Mr. Parker states. I go to object but he stops me before any words can escape my mouth. "Please hand me your tests and leave. My decision is final."
My lip shakes mimicking my hand. I glare at the blue haired boy before listening to what I was told. I gather my stuff angrily and walk back to Mr. Parker's desk with my test. The boy hasn't moved. He seems to be locked in a death stare with Mr. Parker as I put my unfinished test on his desk.
Without another word I leave the room. I stomp angrily away from the class room. This can't be happening. I can't get a detention. What if because of the detention I can't get a good job. My life is practically ruined now. And it's all that stupid boys fault.
"Hey! Lily!"
I stop and turn at the sound of my name. The boy that caused this jogs over to me. My jaw clenches as he gets closer. He better not think we'll be detention buddies.
"What do you want!" I snap.
He pretends like I shot him. I wish I did. People like him always ruin something academically for me and I can't stand this! Why can't people just be normal?
"Ouch your attitude really hurts, Flower," he mocks, "and I thought we could be friends."
"Friends?" I laugh, "why would I want to be friends with you? Do you even understand what just happened? We got detention you idiot!"
"Okay, wow. I understand you're mad," he answers and I groan.
"Today at lunch," I start pointing my finger at him as I start walking closer to him, "you are going to sit far away from me so I can finish that damn test. Do you understand?"
"Woah, chill," he chuckles raising his hands in surrender. "I won't bother you."
"Good," I snap. "This is the last time we ever talk, so don't think we're friends."
I turned around and walked away with the last word. My jaw hurt from all the clenching but I couldn't stop. He practically just messed up my whole life. Was I supposed to smile about that? I hope after this semester that I never have to see him ever again.
