I woke up to my mom shaking my shoulder excitedly. She hasn't done that in a couple of years but when she did it was always for something fun. Flower came to join the excitement and went straight to my face licking it with as much slobber as possible. I laughed as I pushed both of them off me.

"Happy birthday!" Mom exclaims with a laugh.

She lets herself fall next to me on my bed. I watch amusingly as she grabs the sides of the blankets and my gets comfortable wrapping it around her. I haven't seen her this playful in a long time.

"Why are you so happy?" I ask chuckling at her giddiness.

"You're just going to have a good birthday this year and I'm happy about that," she shrugs cuddling up to my pillow.

"How do you know that?" I ask with raised eyebrows.

"Because Flynn threw you a surprise party," she sing songs, "and I know what he got you."

"Why would I care?" I scoff trying to play it cool.

"We all know you like him," she smiles. I groan hitting my head with a pillow. That's so embarrassing that my mom knows who I have a crush on. "Now go pretend to be surprised about your surprise party downstairs."

"Okay," I smile forgetting my embarrassment and getting excited again.

I get out of bed quickly and put on some pants. It was a little hot last night so I took them off. It'd be a little more than just embarrassing if I went down stairs and Flynn saw me in my underwear. I feel like putting on clothes is a better way to get him to think I'm pretty. I don't want to disappoint him.

I grab my dog in my arms and leave the room. I casually comb my fingers threw my hair as I walked down the stairs. I let flower go as I reach the bottom. No one is in the hall so he must be in the living room or kitchen. I walk to the kitchen first seeing as I'm hungry anyways.

I walk into the kitchen with flower trailing behind me just to get squished into a huge group hug. I laugh pushing everyone away. Flynn, Athena, Ellen, Alice, and Clifford all smile at me saying happy birthday to me.

"Thank you so much!" I smile not sure how I can smile anymore.

"Where you surprised?" Athena asks.

"Yes," I chuckle, "I almost had a heart attack."

I was surprised. I knew they'd be here but it was still surprising when they popped up an surrounded me. It was surprising because all the attention was on me and it was positive. It felt nice to have so many people surround me with their love.

"We were going to make you a cake but then Flynn decided we should make you a birthday pancake instead since it's the morning," Ellen tells me ushering me to the island.

"Ooo I'm starving," I admit following everyone to the stack of pancakes. "Are you guys eating with me?"

"Obviously," Flynn says giving me a hug from behind, "making pancakes work up an appetite."

"Good cause that'd be awkward if you all just watched me eat," I chuckle as Flynn let's go of me.

Athena hands me a stack of multicolored pancakes topped in whip cream. I thank her and take a seat at one of the stools. Flynn gets his pancakes next and sits next to me, so does Clifford.

"I'm so glad you two are here," I admit directing it towards Alice and Clifford.

"Why wouldn't we be?" Alice asks.
