I waited at the door for Mr. Parker quietly. That boy better not mess me up again. I swear I will call a hitman and have him killed if he does. Would I ask for it to look like an accident or for him to be stabbed a bunch of times? I guess it would depend on what he does.
"Ms. North," Mr. Parker says making me snap out of my thoughts.
I stand up straighter giving him a small smile. Hopefully, he won't call my parents about this if I'm nice. Oh if they found out I'd be dead before I even walked through the front door.
"Are you coming?"
"Yes, yes. Sorry," I mumble following him inside.
He takes a seat at his desk and searches through his pile of papers for my test. He finds it right away and hands it to me. I thank him and take a seat near the window. Sometimes, you can hear the crickets and they always make me calmer.
I probably get five questions done before the blue haired menace walks into the room like the ball of energy he is. Great. Now, I'm distracted again. I watch as he gets his test and sits as far as he can away from me. Thank god.
I finish the test with no further distractions. Mr. Parker made me stay until lunch was over. I don't really have a problem with that considering I never eat lunch here anyways. I usually wait until I get home. Sometimes, I'm too stressed to eat and other times I'm just repulsed by the choices they provide.
As I wait for the lunch bell to go off I do the rest of my homework. I'm already a week ahead of most of my classes but that's okay. I like it that way. If I'm ever sick I don't have to do anything. Plus it's not like I have a life.
For some reason ten minutes before we have to leave I find myself looking at the blue haired boy. After a minute of watching him like the creep I am I can infer that he is always moving. It's like he can't seem to focus. He's still taking his test. Was it that hard? It didn't seem hard.
The bell rings making me jump. Finally, I can leave. I grab my things and start to leave the room when....
"Lily, can I talk to you?" Mr. Parker calls.
I nod and walk over to his desk. He gives me my test back. It's graded. I hesitantly look at it. This test could literally kill me. I turn the paper around and let out a sigh of relief. I got a 98.
"Thank you," I mumble being polite before turning to leave.
"Lily," Mr. Parker says again and I turn back to him. "I called your mom."
No. My eyes widen. How could he? I feel my hands shaking like before. This can't happen.
"I'm sorry, Lily. She needed to know," Mr. Parker says his voice filled with pity.
I stay silent. This isn't right. I'm not supposed to be here. If it wasn't for....
I turn and glare at the fidgeting boy. He feels my gaze on him and looks up. My hands aren't shaking anymore but my glare is sharp. I notice him gulp as he nervously scratches his neck.
"Can I leave now?" I ask quietly while still glaring at the boy.
"Yes, you can," Mr. Parker answers and I'm out of the room in a flash.
I should be happy I got a 98 on that test but I can't help but know my mom is going to yell at me for it. She'll probably say I didn't try hard enough. Maybe she'll blame it on detention and call me a horrible child. All I know is tonight won't be a good night.
I try to distract myself by focusing on something else. I count the steps I take and how many people are wearing red shirts. By the time I get to my next class I took 126 steps and saw ten people with red shirts. Luckily, I got to class a minute before the bell rang. There's no reason for me to get another detention.
