I pulled away and opened my eyes. I haven't kissed anyone in years. I don't think I was bad. Clifford's smiling at me so that must mean I didn't suck.

I duck my head dropping my hands to my lap. I don't know what to think. These things don't happen to me ever. How are you supposed to act when some attractive guy kisses you at a party? To I smile? What am I supposed to say?

"You didn't stop me," he whispers and I look up at him.

"I didn't-," I stop unsure what to actually say, "I didn't want to."

"Do you want to dance?" He asks.

"Yes," I reply jumping off the fence.

I follow him back into the house gladly. I don't feel like talking right now. Maybe it'll be good to just dance and forget about things. A lot of things have happened lately.

Alice is back on the dance floor when we get there. I bring Clifford to my friend and start dancing. They get along fine. They probably even know each other. No one has to talk for us to have a good time.

Clifford dances close to me all night and it feels nice. It feels nice to be around these people. For once it feels like all these people around me are my friends. It feels nice to be normal.

It wasn't until Alice forgot what number can she was on that I knew it was probably time to go home. She didn't want to but I persuaded her to give me her address. It was a really amusing situation to be honest.

I drag Alice out of the party with the help of Clifford. He's really nice. Hopefully, these two will be my friends outside of this party.

"Where did you park?" Clifford asks obviously confused why we're walking down the street.

"I don't like my car getting ruined," I tell him, "it's two houses down."

"You're sooooo smart, Lily," Alice hums. "Maybe we should find Mollys car and ruin that!" She giggles.

"Let's just go home," I laugh.

"Don't worry, Al," Clifford starts, "I got Molly back for you already."

"Really!" She asks her voice growing higher. "Oh Cliff how sweet! What'd you do?"

"You'll know tomorrow," he smirks.

We get to my car and I lean Alice on Clifford so I can unlock my car. The automatic switch stopped working a couple months ago so I have to manually use the key. Clifford and Alice continue talking. They really must've known each other before tonight.

I unlock the passenger door for Alice to get inside. She slides in laughing at herself as she struggles with the seatbelt. I giggle and reach in to help her. When she's all situated I close the door and turn to Clifford.

"Do you need a ride?" I ask, "I could use the company."

"If you insist," he smiles.

I reach over and open the door for him. He thanks me and gets inside. I run to my side and get in. Alice is almost half asleep already and Clifford is taking pictures of her in ugly postions.

"Are you and Alice close?" I ask starting the car.

"She's my best friend," he admits, "I'm glad you two met."

"When did you meet?" I ask after starting to drive away.

"Our parents are friends. We grew up together. We were just lucky to want to go to the same college," he explains and I smile.

"Pictures or it didn't happen," I say and he chuckles starting to open his phone.

I pull over as he hands me his phone. There's a cute little picture of him and Alice from a couple years ago. The only reason I know it's from a couple ears ago because Clifford has darker hair and Alice's hair is brown instead of red.
