I was in my room making my bed when there was a knock on my door, "Found your knee brace." It was Joseph. I throw my last pillow onto my bed, turning around, "Thanks dickhead do you want a prize?" I huff holding my hand out. Joseph looks down at the brace raising his eyebrow, "This is actually kinky. You know maybe I'll borrow it just like I did with your tutu."

I scrunch my face at his harsh words taking a step closer, "I just ate breakfast and would love not to throw up."

Joseph grins taking a step back, "Hey now, we are just playing." He examines the brace looking at it closely.

"Terrorizing me doesn't qualify for playing." I launch forward in hopes to grab my knee brace, but it's no luck.

Joseph takes two steps back leaving us in the small hallway. He laughs at either my joke or my attempt to grab the knee brace, "Not so fast Lexi. I recall our youth days to be fun." I roll my eyes, walking back to my room. I don't have time to be wasted on my brothers nut sized brain.

He follows me, "We had some fun times, remember that one time we played tag in the snow?"

I sit at my desk opening a drawer to get my notebook, "Oh you mean when you pushed me face first into the snow?" I shut the drawer, opening my notebook. I look for my health notes for Connor. He had text me last night if he could use them for his study guide.

Joseph sits on my bed, fixing his hat. I find my notes scribbled in black ink, a few doodles around the writing. I snap a couple of pictures sending them to him. I hear Joseph snicker, "That's cheating."

I spin my chair in his direction, "Why are you still here? Aren't you leaving with Daniel soon?" I ask annoyed as he is planted in my bed, wrinkling the blankets. I stand to my feet as he stands up, "Actually dad is taking us out for breakfast since you don't have practice."

I fix the blankets again, I know he just did not say "us". There hasn't been a "us" in two months. "You're joking right?" My knee brace lays on my bed, I grab it. I sit down, wrapping it around my leg. I wince when I put it too tight, I loosen it as Joseph hymns. "Nope, mom told him you don't  have practice on Sundays, so he said it'd be best to spend the day together. Sounds fun huh?"

I snort, "Sounds like the great depression." I laugh at my own joke when Lady runs in my room at full speed. She jumps on bed rolling her body in all different directions on my bed.

I groan, "Joseph get her off." Lady grabs a mouthful of blankets in her mouth then begins to tug on it.

I stand up pulling it away from her while Joseph just stands there laughing and encouraging Lady to pull harder. It's a battle of tug a war, till I hear my blanket rip. Joseph immediately orders Lady to stop as I gasp letting go. Lady drops it.

Her tongue hangs from my parted mouth. Joseph stares at me frightened of what I'll do next. I stare at the blanket, there is a big hole torn in the middle. We all freeze, Joseph tells Lady to leave. She runs past me. I don't move. Joseph grabs the blanket, dragging it off of my bed, "Lexi I'll ask mom to sew it for you."

"Granddad gave me this," I pull it from him. He stays silent allowing me to take it from him. "You let Lady destroy it." I was frustrated with Joseph, I wasn't sure if he had a heart at all. My mother walks in holding her mug in her hands, "Your father is on his way."

She gives Joseph a glare, then glances at me. She lets out a sigh, "What did he do now?" She asks. It never amazed me how well my mother knew us. And if there was problem between Joseph and I, she never had to ask who did it. She already knew.

Joseph raises his hand, "In my defense, I thought it was a different blanket." One thing about Joseph was that he was terrible liar, so bad, I didn't see the point why he even tried. But he was actually telling the truth right now.
