Chapter 31

Layla P.O.V

The room they made me wait in was cold. Blood still stained my face, clothes, and hands. Officer Brown walked in with a warm towel and new clothes. Detective Brown sighed and then left the room. I undressed and then began scrubbing Marvin's blood off my skin. "What happened Layla?" Detective Brown asked me. " I killed him " I said Softly, there was no need for me to lie. Detective Brown looked me in my eyes and put his head down. I knew he didn't wanna take me in but he had no choice. He hit record and paused. "Layla start from the beginning" Detective Brown said. Officer Daniels came in the room and I broke down starting from the beginning.

I'd been in this room for at least 6 hours. I had my head in my arms as I attempted to fall asleep. I thought maybe if I fell asleep they'd just take me to jail. The door opened and I pretended to be sleep. "Layla" Rian said softly. I jumped up and I broke down when I saw he wasn't alone. JJ was staring at me as tears poured down his cheeks. I never intended for him to ever see me like this. "I'm sorry baby" I said reaching for him. JJ ran around the table and climbed in my lap. "I don't want you to go to jail" JJ sobbed. "Mommy did something very bad Jayrian" I said. JJ wrapped his arms around my neck and cried harder. Rian wiped his face and stood up. He took JJ out of my hands and he kissed my forehead and wiped my tears . " We here for you" he said leaving out . I slid down the wall till I was sitting. " I'm sorry JJ" I whispered.

Peanut P.O.V

Mya laid on my chest and traced the out line of my jaw. I looked down at her and admired all her tattoos. "When you start getting tatted?" I asked. "I got my first tattoo gun at 14, and start experimenting on myself" Mya said holding out her arms. "Yo people ain't care?" I asked. Her shit looked professional. "I was in a group home, they ain't give a damn what I did. As long as I ain't give them no problems they let me do whatever" Mya said. "You good, why you ain't doing it as a hustle?" I asked. Mya shrugged and kissed my neck. "You still got the tattoo gun" I asked. "Naw" Mya said. "Let's get you one" I said. "Okay" Mya said. I sat up wincing from the pain. "Get dressed, I gotta get a car" I said. Mya hopped up and put her clothes back on. I texted Mouse and told him to come get us. When we came out the room Bonez, Money and Kris were talking and laughing on the couch. "Bout time y'all come up out that room" Money joked. I smiled and spoke to everybody. "Where can I get a car?" I asked. "Anywhere, Trap got a mexican plug that'll do it for a rock and 500 depending on what you want" Bonez said. "I don't care I just need some and I got L's" I said. "Even better" Money said. "Can't have my girl and my baby out here with no whip" I said smiling at Mya. "Awww that's so sweet" Kris said. Money laughed. "Yeah Bonez why you can't be sweet like Peanut?" Money joked. "I am sweet, ain't I Kris ?" Bonez asked. Kris smirked, "In some areas" Kris said. We all laughed.

I walked around the car lot and spotted a jeep. "Mya what about this?" I asked. Mya smiled and agreed. "This yo car too, I want you happy" I said. "I'm happy as long as I'm with you" Mya said. Miguel threw me the keys and we hopped in. "That easy?" Mya asked. I started it up and drove off the lot. "Where we going?" Mya asked. "Just chill and ride ma, you'll see" I said turning up the music so she wouldn't ask anymore questions. I pulled up at Babies R Us and we got out. I saw the excitement all in Mya's face but she wouldn't admit it. Truth was I couldn't wait until she had our baby, boy or girl I was just ready for a little me! "Pick out anything you want, I got it don't trip" I said. "I got money too Peanut, you ain't gotta front everything" Mya said. "Quit being stubborn" I said laughing. "Peanut shut up and come on we can go half, its both of our baby" Mya stressed. I smiled and followed her around and watched her pick up random things. I ventured off and went to go look for a carseat and stroller set. I found a nuetral one so rather we had a girl or a boy we'd be able to use it. "Can I help you?" I heard a voice ask. "Naw I'm just looking" I said spinning around. Our eyes locked and I recognized my childhood crush Nina. "Oh my goodness Markee!" Nina squealed. I smiled and hugged her. "Wassup baby girl, you a long way from Jersey" I said. "So are you. How you been? You got a baby now?" Nina asked. "Expecting one in the next 8 months" I said noticing Mya speed walking towards us with the cart. "Found something baby?" Mya asked. I chuckeled to myself. "Nina this is my girlfriend Mya. Mya this is my childhood friend Nina" I said. Mya smiled and waved. "Well I'm gone let y'all get back to shopping. Markee take my number before you leave, maybe we can get together. All of us, maybe a double date" Nina said walking away.

Rian P.O.V

JJ fell asleep on the ride home. All this shit was getting to me I didn't know how to take all this in. When we pulled up to the house I got JJ out and carried him to his room. Kristen stood at the door and then walked over to JJ. He lazily opened his eyes and started crying. "Jr its gonna be okay" she soothed wiping his tears away. I sat on the bed and put my head down. "Rian go check on Reigna, I wanna talk to him for a minute" Kristen said. I got up and started to leave out but I stopped at the door. Kristen got on her knees and sat on her feet. JJ looked so sad and broken and it was killing me. "Am I ever gonna see mommy again?" JJ asked. "Yes, me and daddy gone make sure you do. But I'm gonna be here for you. I know I'm not your mommy but I love you like you're mine okay?" Kristen asked. JJ nodded and sat up and gave Kristen a hug. My heart was breaking seeing him in so much pain, I wish I could take it all away. I walked away and found Reigna playing in her room. "Fat momma" I said softly. "Dada" Reigna screamed crawling over to me. I pulled her up on her feet and kissed her fat jaws. "Is daddy princess hungry?" I asked carrying her into the kitchen. Kristen had just finished dinner and had all of our plates already made.

After we put both kids to bed Kristen went and laid down. Riah, Simone and Jeremy came over to check on JJ. "How's my nephew?" Simone asked giving me sympathetic look. I shrugged, " He gone be alright. They let Layla see him before they locked her up" I said. "I feel so bad! What the hell is wrong with Layla?" Simone snapped. "She just snapped, we can only hope the lawyer I got for her can get her off" I said. "Yeah that love shit ain't no joke" Jeremy said shaking his head. "Let's change the subject, cause I know for sure the trial gone be hell if they approach it with the whole tempary insanity bullshit" Riah said. I nodded agreeing. I really just wanted to take JJ's mind off everything. "Anyway where you been Mr?" Simone asked Jeremy. "He been up Courtney ass" Riah said laughing. " She my lil baby man, I been tryna stay away from my ex Natasha but she keep popping up" Jeremy stressed. "Stop laying That pipe on everybody you meet! You know New York girls fucking crazy!" I said laughing. "That's why I'm tryna settle down with Courtney mean ass! She keep me focused" Jeremy said laughing. "Good, you neec to give us a neice or a nephew anyway!" Riah sang. "I been trying to get Courtney ass but she insist on condoms" Jeremy said. Riah laughed,  "That's my bestfriend, that's my bestfriend" Riah sang. I smiled, I didn't realize how much I missed them until this very moment!
