The call

Elena POV

I was on the couch watching a movie with Damon cooking some dinner as we are waiting for Meredith to call us. it's been an hour now and I seem to be getting more worried by the second.Jeremy of course packing up stairs he's moving out Bonnie and him are moving in together yep and he just told me like an half an hour ago so I'm going to be alone now which sucks

I wasn't watching the movie I was just watching Damon cooking.I loved watching him cook watching as he cut all the vegetables

He so just so into it I knew he loved cooking you could just tell I think it kinda made him feel human and he always smiles when he cooks

"Hey Elena do you like mushrooms"damon asked as he cut away

"Yea but not to much I only like a few"i said and smiled

"Good"Damon said as he poured all the vegetables in a pan

He got some chicken breast out and started to cut it in to little pieces and then put that in an other pan

He put the pasta in the boiling water and mixed the cook chicken with the vegetables together

After the pasta was cooked Damon poured out the water and then poured it in a bowl and did the same with chicken and veggies with a different bowl

"Elena dinners ready you want to go get Jeremy"Damon said as he put the food on the table

"Ok"i said getting off the couch and going to the stairs

I walked up the stairs and went straight to Jeremy's room.The door was closed so I knocked on it

"Come in"Jeremy said from the other side of the door

I opened it and walked in and see him on his bad with boxes around the room

"Jer dinners ready come eat"i said looking at him

"Hum I'm not hunger so I'm going to pass dinner tonight"Jeremy said with no care

"Oh yes you are damon made us a special dinner for us"i said in a boss tone

"God since when do you care about Damon"he said rolling his

"Since always now get your ass down stairs and eat"i said pointing down the hallway

He gets up from the bed and went down the stairs and I followed after

I walked in the kitchen and see damon siting there with an empty plate in front of him

"Your eating tonight?"i asked Damon with a cocked eyebrow

"Of course why wouldn't I"damon said with a smirk

I sat down beside him and Jeremy was a cross from us

"Ok dig In"damon said grabbing the blow of food and putting a little on his plate and then gave the blow to me he wasn't eating a lot

I put some food on my plate then passed it to Jeremy and started to eat

The phone rings and I jump up from my chair and run to the phone then I pick it up

"H-hello"i asked with worry In my voice

"Hi Elena it's Meredith your tests came back and it's not good news"meredith said sadly

I look at damon and he's just eating he doesn't seem to be listing

"One second let me go up stairs"i said and turning to go up stairs

After I clim the stairs I go to my room and close my bedroom door

"Ok what what's wrong with me"i said with tears filling In my eyes

"Well you have cancer Elena and it's not one we can do anything to fix"Meredith said

No why why did it have to be cancer why that just as I was letting Damon in my heart why now

"Oh god"i said as I lets out a sod.I put my hand over my mouth then put it back to my said

"How long"i asked getting straight to the point

"Elena I rea-"I cut her off not wanting to hear it

"I asked how long"i said with pain and hurt in my voice

"A year give or take"Meredith said with pain

"Ok thank you Meredith"i said and hung up

I walk down the stairs whipping the tears away from my eyes and go back to the table

I sit down beside Damon again not saying a word to him just siting down and staring at Jeremy.I was still in shock

"So Jeremy I hear you and Bonnie are mov-"I cut Damon off

"I have cancer and I only have a year left to live"i said

I know it's sad but don't worry the story will get good
