Chapter 1
Shocking News
“Bring” It was finally the end of my twelfth year of school. No more school till college and until then relaxing will take over my summer. I got up from my desk in history for the last time and headed to my locker not far from the front door. “Tania!” I heard my name being called. Turning around just in time to see my best friend Rania jumping into me. “Ugh.” I groaned as we fell to the ground. “RANIA! A little heads up next time please?” I laughed as I rolled her off of me. “Sorry Tania I’m just so excited I mean schools over no more boring teachers till collage, how awesome is that?” Rania asked. Rania is a short petite girl she has pixy cut red hair and big blue eyes. She’s very pretty all the guys fall at her feet, but she just brushes them off. She says she doesn’t date heartless jerks who only want to get in her pants. Which I agree with her, I mean sure there’s hot guys in our school, but I wouldn’t date any of them and they wouldn’t date me. I’m saying this because I’m not a very pretty girl I have brown shoulder length curly hair, deep sea blue eyes, and freckles on my face. I have a medium sized waist with a size D cup and have a little bit of a butt, but not much.
“Hello Tania anyone there?” Rania said waving her hand in my face will I dozed into dream land comparing myself. “Sorry Rania I was in dream land.” I smiled shyly looking in my locker as I cleaned it out. “You and your zones!” Rania huffed. I cracked a smile and shook my head at her. She zones out more than I do, I don’t know what she’s talking about.
“Anyways what are you doing tonight? Tim Col is throwing a party and I need a date!” Tania laughed. I smiled, I haven’t gone to a party in a long time and I could use a drink. “I’m doing nothing and if you’re asking me to go with you, pick me up at 9.” I laughed while skipping off to my new challenger I got as a graduation gift from my parents. “Time to go pick up Max.” turning up my radio as Black Veil Brides Knives and Pens started playing while pulling out of the parking lot.
As I pulled into the Elementary I saw Max leaning against the flag pole talking to a girl. I smiled Max is a really cute kid with the whole skater boy look no wonder this girl is flirting back with him. Dang I’d hate to ruin it, but I’m hungry. Honking the horn I yell “MAX! HURRY UP IM HUNGRY!” I laughed evilly as he gave me an angry look and said goodbye to his “girlfriend”.
“Hello brat.” Max asked as he got in the car. Uh oh I made him mad. “Hey I’m sorry that I interrupted your little talk, but I am hungry and your little butt wasn’t moving fast enough. Max huffed and crossed his arms not speaking. Well fine he can just pout. I hauled out of the school heading home to get some yummy food.
“Mom, we’re home!” I sang running into the kitchen grabbing a box of Coco Puffs, not even getting a bowl, and just eating it straight from the box. As I was in the middle of swallowing I noticed my parents sitting at the kitchen table with a well-dressed man looking at me weirdly. “What?” I asked not even swallowing before asking. “Honey,” my mom asked. “This is Mr. James Carol and he has a very interesting proposition to ask you.” I looked at Mr. Carol with questioning eyes. A proposition that’s a really big word and when my mom uses big words she means business. I walked over to the table not before setting my Coco Puffs down and sat right across from fancy dressed dude.
“Okay spill the beans fancy man.” I smiled. He just looked at me with a serious face like he was going to tell me my fish died! OH MY GOD he’s going to tell me my fishy is dead! Wait I don’t have a fish, but if I did that would be very sad.
“Ms. Marks are you listening to me?” I snapped out of my day dreaming. “Huh? Oh yeah I’m here.” I blushed slightly and looked at his serious face. “Ok Ms. Marks here is my proposition; my health is in jeopardy I have a disease and it is getting difficult for me to run my business so my son is taking over, there is only one problem he needs to be married to take over the business that’s how the board sees it. He has seen you around school and has picked you to be his bride.” My mouth fell open. “You might know him, his name is Jacob Carol.” I gasped loudly causing everyone to look at me. Jacob Carol is the biggest jerk ever sure he’s hot, but he’s been out to ruin my life since fourth grade just because I poured milk on him! I was so shocked I didn’t even answer Mr. Carol when he said. “If you marry my son I will give you and your family 5 million dollars. I’ll expect your answer by the end of the summer Ms. Marks.” With that he got up and left.
“Honey, we need the money we’re going broke and I’m pregnant.” My mom said and without answering I was running to my room screaming No and tripping three times up the stairs. No no no, I am not marrying that snotty nosed jerk! He’s going to ruin my life forever that’s probably why he picked me. I groaned and fell face down on my bed. “I need to call Rania.” I picked up my phone and rang Rania.
“Hello sexy!” Rania screamed into the phone. “Rania, stop screaming.” I yelled. “Sorry.” She giggled and I rolled my eyes. “Rania, I have bad news.” I sighed into the phone. “OMG you’re not coming to the party! Tania you have to come you are my date!” Rania kept babbling giving me a headache golly this girl can talk! “Rania that’s not it I am coming trust me I need to get drunk right now! I got some bad news.” A tear fell down my face. “Rania, my parents want me to marry Jacob Carol for 5 million dollars.” Rania gasped. “The jerk that is out to ruin your life? Tania I’m so sorry.” I sighed. “It’s alright Rania just come get me I’m ready to get drunk and forget everything.”
