Chapter III:
I met up with Micah and Mae at the school's entrance. Enrollments were about to start for our senior years and I was so excited. They say that high school is the most fun part of your life and I am trying to do my best to live up to that notion. First, of course, do well in my studies and make heaps of friends... well I guess Micah and Mae could fill in that spot. Second, join club activities to divert myself from all the academic pressure... done that too. I joined the chess team during my elementary years, though most of my games were loses I did enjoy every one of them. When I started high school, I joined in more physical clubs that includes swimming and lawn tennis. These clubs are outside of school. Of course, I being a shy girl would not dare to enter such clubs without my friends. Mae is our swimming champ while I and Micah tag along while Micah is the lawn tennis queen and us two as her loyal followers. Lastly, I grabbed every opportunity that I have to make the best of my life... that is why...
"Settle down people! We are about to start!" first day of classes and the room was echoing with chatters about summer. "Before anything else let me introduce myself. My name is Mr. Mark Raye. I will be your class adviser for the rest of your stay here as seniors and of course your last year of stay here in this university as high school students. I will also be teaching you literature and English. I hope to be in good terms with all of you." There was a short pause before he continued
"As seniors you are all required to put up a play to demonstrate your talents before leaving the university's grounds as graduates. Since I am your English-literature teacher I would like to give you a heads-up on this matter as early as now to avoid cramming situations."
Everybody was quiet now as Mr. Mark started to explain what we need to do and what is expected of us from all of this.
"I would advise a Shakespearian work of art,"
His suggestions brought an uproar of commission. (-____-) guess my class is not that patient when it comes to decision making and all.
"Don't worry guys. It is still up to you to decide."
It is as if he tried to withdraw his words knowing that it might cause a riot if he imposed it. With the visible face of defeat he walked towards his table, sat down, and waited for the next to come.
The class was now in a rumble as each one started to give off their opinions with regards to the matter at hand. I looked around to see the chaos before heaving a sigh. I am, honestly tired of this scene. I want to go home and enjoy the serenity that my room has to offer.
"It seems like our teacher doesn't really care much of the chaos that is happening. Well, judging from the look of his face earlier it seems like he is a loser... sorry for the word." I thought while shifting my gaze to him...
(-__=) something seems odd. Is... is he smirking?
"Okay class. Settle down." it is as if a new wave of confidence struck him as he got up and stood in front of his table. His new authority gained the attention of the whole class shutting each and every member present. "I'll give you this time to decide but I want a conclusion by the time the bell rings."
Clarisse was the first one to raise her hand.
"Sleeping beauty," She smiled sweetly and looked around. "Of course, I'm going to be Beauty."
"Her name's Aurora, moron," Mae scoffed.
I giggled.
"How about Beauty and the Beast?" one of our classmates from the back shouted.
"Yeah! And you can be the BEAST!" everybody laughed on the account of the reply.
The room started to echo with whispers, comments and suggestions but unlike earlier this is more... I think I can call it organized?
