Chapter XII:
I stretched my hand and opened my eyes to the bright new day set before me. The birds were chirping merrily while dancing on top of the glass table that patiently stood at the middle of my terrace. I reached for my phone and turned off the alarm since I woke up before it went off. It was a Sunday morning but all students participating in the play: actors and support alike were requested to return to our school for the dress rehearsals and final practice. Two more days before the presentation and Sebastian decided to give us our free time a day before the play.
"That way you could relax and go over your scripts for the last time before you perform."
I have to give it to him. He has some weird ways of doing things. If I remember correctly, dress rehearsals and final practices are usually done a day before the actual performance so that the roles that the actors and actresses will play will still be fresh in their minds. His theory on the other hand is different, "if you're too beat from the practice a day before your actual performance, you won't be able to perform well during the actual play." That's what he said, which actually has a point.

We only went through one run and after that he gave the final instructions and dismissed us. I am so glad that most of the performers already memorized their lines. That way we didn't have to go over and over them during practice and because of that we were able to end early.
"Want to go home together?" I asked Mae after I've finished packing up.
"Sure." She smiled. "Let's just wait for Micah." She continued while pointing at our laughing friend who was currently talking to Sebastian. I smiled. Seeing my friends happy makes me happy as well. I stared at her for a while and noticed that she was hugging a plastic bag. She kept on laughing while Sebastian continued talking to her. I squinted and tried to read his lips since they're too far for me to eavesdrop. After a few more minutes he placed his hand on her head and if I may guess, he bid her goodbye. They then parted ways.
"What's that?" Mae inquired as she approached.
"My dress!" she replied excitedly.
"Really?! Let's see it!" I urged her feeling a bit excited.
"No." she hid it behind her. "You'll need to wait for the play to see it," she stuck her tongue out. "Are you coming home with us?"
I nodded at her question. "It's only 3 in the afternoon so I'm way not past my curfew." I joked. It has been some time now since we've walked home together. I'm very happy that we'll be able to do it once more today. We talked and joked with each other while heading towards our stops.

The bright orange rays of the sun walked inside my room painting everything on its way with its majestic color. I threw my bag on my couch, took out my phone, and checked the time. It was only two in the afternoon and I am itching to have my bath. I was very sticky from the day's activities plus the long walk to our stops. Not to mention us monkeying around on the way. I placed my phone above my vanity table, took my towel, and headed to the shower room. I undressed myself and opened the tap. The water was cool and refreshing. I lifted my face towards the soft pitter-pattering water drops. It's a really nice feeling that I suddenly felt sleepy under the soft drops of water.
