"What would you do if you could choose?" The girl looked up from the book she was holding, maroon eyes setting themselves on the boy who was basically doing the same thing, holding a book of his own. The moonlight trespassed the window they were using as backrest, and it helped her to try and guess what the strange figures on the pages of his book actually were. When she gazed up again, she found that he was still staring at her, probably expecting a proper answer."Choose what?"
He didn't hesitate. Law didn't hesitate, he never did. But he did pause before speaking again.
"Choose how you want to live your life"
Yue looked at the mini Den Den Mushi on her hand, helped by the small lamp that was lip by her side, holding the little pink snail that had accompanied her all these years as it stopped ringing. Her face showed a mixture of so many feelings that by taking a look at her features there was no certain way of knowing just what she was thinking; it could be said her eyes were glued to the snail, and actually, for good reasons- It was the third time someone had called since she woke up, and it probably had ringed countless of times while she was sleeping, taking into consideration the fact that she had been sleeping for a long time. She had no way of knowing who was calling, and there weren't many options since only a handful of people knew her number, but that disturbing part.
The names of which that little list was consisted were the names of people who probably, at the moment, weren't happy with her.
Among those names, there was Doflamingo, and that only made her feel even more miserable, not wanting to know nor imagine what the man was doing at that precise moment. She could only pray and hope that Doffy was currently spending more time than estimated at his work as a Shichibukai, enough so he wouldn't notice her absence until the very last minute. That assuming that Buffalo had not said anything about how she was nowhere to be found at Shabondy- The first call she received that first day inside the submarine when they were on their way to Marineford was probably Buffalo wondering why the hell she wasn't where she was supposed to wait for him.
Of course, she didn't pick up that call.
Not that one or the ones that followed it, just as she was doing at that moment.
Was that the reason why Law had given the Den Den Mushi back to her?
Even after the thing stopped ringing, she kept looking at it for a really long time, half expecting to hear it making strange sounds and seeing it opening its little eyes in a pretty disturbing manner, so she really didn't know whether to laugh or cry when she heard nothing after a couple of minutes. Yue was conscious she had some sort of twisted luck. That was the only explanation she could think about at the moment, or actually, the only explanation she could possibly found about what was happening to her. Yue left the Den Den Mushi on top of the small metal table that was next to the bed, sighing slightly as she pressed a hand against her face, trying not to feel like what she was doing was the most stupid thing she had ever done in her life.
And the woman had done some pretty stupid things.
Yue knew she had to do something, and quickly, she had known it since the moment she had silently gone along with the Heart Pirate's plans as an outsider who just happened to be under their same roof for a short amount of time, but the plan she had begun to draw in her mind ended up completely destroyed one way or another, even before she could come up with a concrete idea of what she was supposed to do now.
