"My brother betrayed me"

Yue's eyes snapped away from the soup served in front of her to look at the man sitting across the table. Doflamingo refilled his glass from the bottle of wine placed by his side, an abnormally neutral expression on his face as the words left his lips. It wasn't a topic to discuss during lunch, it most certainly wasn't, but more than that it didn't seem to be the kind of subject he could or would actually discuss with her, out of all people. Yue blinked, once, twice, then almost dropped the spoon when the meaning behind what he said sunk in, but the man didn't seem to notice that. In fact, he didn't seem to notice a thing, too busy observing the surface of the red liquid swimming inside the cup, and had he been someone entirely different Yue wouldn't have been able to notice the fact that he was mainly talking to himself.

Truth to be told, it wasn't the first time he looked like that. It wasn't the first time his mind seemed to wander far away, leaving behind a face that could maybe be classified as nostalgic.

"I trusted him, and he betrayed me, so I took care of him myself. He took both an important fruit from me, and a brat I had high expectations of" She was momentarily thankful when he wasn't paying enough attention to notice her reaction as of yet. Yue's eyes widened at the piece of information she had certainly not heard before- Had it all happened the last time he was away? Who exactly was he talking about? The not so narrow possibilities of a known person to be the answer made her throat close in with anticipation an anxiety. She was, though, intelligent enough to hide with behind a glass of water when he suddenly looked up, a grin almost magically appearing on his face "Well, I still have. I can't find him anywhere, you see, not even his body. And that makes me think that maybe someday I'll happen to see him making his own way through the world. Fufufufufu, he'll be even more promising if he can do that, don't you think so?"

Because he still looked rather disoriented, she tempted her luck with no small amount of hesitation.

"Who?"

To her surprise, he only hummed.

"Law. Trafalgar Law"

Nha, Law.

"You don't have to take those" Doflamingo didn't nod towards whatever he meant or pointed at it, but both knew he was referring to the thing she was holding in her lap, seeming ultimately out of place. Yue glanced down at the terrarium she was holding, eyes lingering for a moment on the white flowers excellently maintained inside the glass, before looking at him once more. And the very first thing she noticed was the fact that although the man stood quite close to her, side of the leg leaning against the armchair, he hadn't closed the other behind him. The thing was wide open, allowing her to see for the first time the wooden hallway that separated her room from whatever was out there. The fact that it wasn't even intentional and it would probably seem normal in regards of the situation made her stomach twist in the same way it had since the day before "There are enough gardens where we are going, plenty of flowers and trees"

What did that exactly mean? What were 'plenty' of flowers and trees? Was it ten, twenty? Maybe things weren't as books portrayed them to be, and maybe some lands weren't completely covered in green and flowers of thousand colors and billions of shades. Maybe they didn't smell as nice as it was explained in the printed pages, and maybe those called animals didn't run and eat from the green and they didn't drink from the rivers. She was awfully aware of how little things could be compared to how they were explained in books, shown in hand painted pictures that could perfectly be the product of someone's imagination- Yue was aware that nothing could be like she might have expected it to be.
