IMPORTANT! IMPORTANT! IMPORTANT! PLEASE READ!
First of all, I'm so sorry. I knew I had to update this, but the ideas didn't come and I didn't want to ruin it. I'll have you know that I actually rewrote the whole thing, meaning, not so many mistakes and quite a couple of changes in matters of timeline, so you should read from the first chapter all over again. I was going to wait until I had ALL the chapters rewritten but people kept on reading and honestly I was going to throw up if you kept reading something that wasn't my best and that I knew I could do so much better.
I hope you enjoy it.
A/N: I do not own One Piece.
A/N: English is not my first language.

"We encountered quite a couple of unexpected things on the way, internal problems as well. But that's not the important thing. You know what, Yue? It has come to my attention that something has been keeping you sort of.... Away from me, in a way" Doflamingo circled her slowly, but the girl was completely froze on the spot, feeling her insides being demolished with every step he took and with every word that left her mouth. The emptiness in her stomach morphed into a hollow feeling, and for the first time in her life nerves actually did something nice for her, doing Yue a favor and closing her throat with a know that undoubtedly prevented her from saying anything that could make things worse "And well, I couldn't allow- I can't allow it. You are very important to me, you know that, right? So you can also understand that I cannot stay still when something else attracts your attention" She was awfully aware of how he halted behind her, probably leaning forward so she could hear him clearly- She didn't even move a muscle when the words were whispered near her ear "When someone else gets your attention"
Yue didn't need to be a genius or to live outside that room to know that Doflamingo had seen in Law something important enough to allow him into his 'family'.
The only thing she needed was for the boy to explain it to her, the only thing she needed to know that many things were expected from Law was how hard he was pushed and how much studying he was made to do, how many missions he was sent to and how many people he had to finish off.
The girl didn't know what had happened to her friend or where he was at the moment, and to be absolutely honest, with Doflamingo holding Law's gift and talking about a 'someone else', she was afraid what kind of circumstances had delayed him so much. But for whatever reason Law wasn't there, she probably wouldn't be able of saying his name if Doffy asked her to. In the last few years Yue had heard what kind of things pirates were able to do when they were pissed at someone and she didn't want to think about what might happen if Doflamingo knew who had entered her room when apparently no one else was allowed to. And for a millisecond she wondered if that was the reason the rules were for. To keep people away.
"I just want you to tell me a name, only that" Doflamingo took a hold of her wrist to turn her around to face him, grinning slightly when she hesitated before raising her eyes to meet his. She bit the inside of her mouth without a second thought, almost pressing her lips into a straight line, wanting to look at anything but at her reflection on the sunglasses. Doflamingo chuckled lowly, but then quite simply frowned when there was no answer "I want you to tell me so I can find them and destroy every single part of their body, bone by bone"
There was no answer, just silence.
When he released her arm Yue tripped over her own feet, falling into a sitting position on the floor without contemplations, eyes still fixed on his face and the expression she had never ever seen him wear before, no matter how upset he had been- She felt terrible, and at the same time she felt quite and amount of guilt accumulating inside of her with each passing second, despite the fact that she done nothing wrong. Exactly what had been her mistake? To talk to someone? To have someone else to smile to? Yue didn't understand why he was so angry, she couldn't understand. She opened her mouth to defend Law although his name had not been mentioned as of yet, but stopped before the words could slip from her mouth, because maybe Doffy didn't know who he was talking about. Maybe he didn't know it was Law, maybe he had not done something yet. If that was the case, then she had to keep it that way.
Doflamingo said nothing for the moment, staring at her from above with an expression that no matter how much practice she had had in the past, Yue couldn't possibly recognize, never mind the sunglasses that hide his eyes. He turned from her, showing the girl his back as he walked around the room once more, tossing the crystal ball into the air a couple of times, catching it before it could fall to the ground.
Seconds later Yue understood why the window was still open.
She could almost see the threads that closed around the glass quite neatly, holding it up in the air as a crack appeared on its surface due to the pressure. She closed her eyes before the thing broke into what seemed a thousand pieces, but the sound reached her ears just alright, and she could almost imagine the red flower falling to the ground along the pieces of glass that held it in place. A thud was heard not a second later- He had probably stepped on it. And even before she opened her eyes again, the undeniable feeling of tears demanding to me unleashed burned the back of her eyes.
When silence was all he received as an answer for his actions, Doflamingo turned around, expecting much out of the situation. But what he found was the only possibility he had not been prepared to see, the only thing that could have possibly make him pause. She looked at him from the floor with her hands turned into fists at her sides, gripping the fabric of the carpet with the tip of her fingers, lips pressed into a straight line and eyes swollen in little tears that peaked from the corners of her eyes. There weren't muffled cries or silent sobs, there was absolutely nothing that guilt, or fear for that matter, could provoke.
Only tears.
Tears and sadness.
But because it still was him, no fear.
"Are you scared?" He moved towards her once more, waiting some kind of movements that could indicate that she wanted to get away from him. Even when he smirked he showed no intention of backing away, kneeling in front of her as he purposely slowly reached over, giving her time to react if she wanted before placing a hand on top of her head. Needless to say, the girl almost didn't even breathe "Sorry, I got carried away a bit. Some things happened in my trip you see, I was in a bad mood. Sorry you had to see that"
The hand slipped from her head to her shoulder, while he stepped close enough to pass his other arm under her knees, lifting her body with great ease, almost as if she weighted the same as a feather, and for someone like him that most probably was the case.
"Let's forget all about this accident and pretend it never happened" After she was lying on her side with the purple mattress covering her body, Doflamingo moved the locks of hair that covered her swollen eyes with the tips of his fingers, then rubbed his thumb over her face with a smile on his face, sitting on the edge of the bed by her side. The fact that it was not the wide grin that she was used to didn't help in the slightest "When you wake up tomorrow, everything will be as usual. It was not your fault, that's for sure, you were simply tricked. I'm not upset Yue, don't think I am"
Yue closed her eyes.
She had done nothing wrong to annoy him.
Those moments couldn't have been something bad, couldn't have been something that was not right.
She wanted to believe on what was being said to her, believe that it was the same as before, as if nothing ever happened.
Yue really wanted to believe it.
"You're a good girl, Yue" She knew it had been a whisper, but it seemed like he had said loud enough for the echo to ring in her ear at the same time she felt the man place a hand on top of her head, like usual "You are my good girl"
"For a brat, you are a good girl, Yue"
"Forever" Whispered Doflamingo.
Nothing ever got to be the same as before.
