Chapter 6

   Today was pretty normal, or at least the same as any other school day.

   Josh had noticed Tyler humming and moving his fingers around a lot, as if he was hitting keys on a keyboard. The truth was, Tyler did play music, and even wrote songs about how he felt. Though he never really brought it up, he really did love music.

  "Do you play?" Josh asked finally, nodding his head toward my fingers pressing on the desk.

  "Piano?" I asked, making sure that we were on the same page.

  "Obviously, Ty," he said sarcastically.

   "Yeah, I only know a few notes, though, nothing big."

That was a lie, and I was pretty sure Josh knew that, too.

   "Shut up, you know more than just a few notes, you sing too, don't you?" His question was more of a demand now.

I looked around. Keep your voice down.

   "What makes you say that?" I asked quietly.

   "You hum a lot," Josh answered, making me a little more insecure.

   "Sorry, I-"

"No Don'be sorry. It's not like one of those hums that get annoying after ten seconds. It sounds nice. Soft."

  I couldn't find a way to answer, but Josh continued on by himself.

"I play the drums. No one really cares about about the drums, but that's okay. Anyway, you should come over and show me one of your songs later." He sounded excited now, almost anxious, too.

   "Yeah," I said, but how could I really show him one of my songs? He wouldn't understanding them, anyway. Josh was a generally really happy guy, my songs were just a sad mess.
Even if josh was the slightest bit saddened by who-knows-what; my songs basically consisted of random metaphors that only I understood half the time. Then when I interpreted my poems into some over them, I sped them up really fast and they basically turn into an unconscious rapping phenomenon, which made me quite insecure most of the time.
