‘Eliana! Get up! Time for breakfast.’ A harsh voice woke me up. I quickly got up before she got pissed. In the door opening stood a lady with greying hair which was up in a bun and she was wearing a black skirt and black blouse with high heeled shoes. Lady Campbell. As soon as she saw I was up, she left the room mumbling something that sounded like, ‘Useless, Lazy girl!’ It didn’t bother me anymore, it wasn’t the first time she’d called me that. I quickly got dressed in my school uniform and went downstairs. I sat down at the kitchen table with the rest of the orphan children. ‘Well that took you long enough!’ She told me. I shrugged but ignored her comment. ‘Look at me when I talk to you!’ She yelled at me grabbing my arm. I looked at her and smiled happily. Angry that I’d smiled she slapped my face. I didn’t even flinch or stopped smiling. She let go of my arm and I grabbed my  bag and went to school. Yes, I was an orphan. I don’t know my parents and this is my eight orphanage in fourteen years. I was told that my mother had died giving birth to me. No, I don’t want any pity. I walked into my school building and greeted my friends. Yes, I had friends! Don’t be surprised.

‘What’s first period?’ I asked Amy. She had the same lessons as I had but she was smart and remembered our schedule. I… well let’s just say that I wasn’t a good student…  I was dyslexic and had ADHD and always knew my way into trouble.

‘How can you still not know your own schedule?’ Monday asked me shaking her head, her green hair hitting Amy who muttered an ‘Ow!’ . Ok what you must know about Monday is that she’s crazy, her real name is Michella, but she hates the name. She only wears green, don’t ask why because she will hit you, and always gets into trouble as well but gets away with it because she has good grades.

‘PE, we’re going to learn archery remember?’ Then I remembered we were going to an archery club near school for the first two hours. I nodded and went to get my PE clothes out of my locker before rejoining my friends and walking to the meeting point with Amy while Monday left for History.

‘Listen carefully!’ My teacher told me motioning for Amy to leave, ‘Any funny business, and you don’t have to come back to this school ever again! Understood?’ I nodded and I went back to Amy muttering ‘Jerk.’ Amy giggled.

‘OK everyone gather ‘round. I’m Adam and I’ll be your archery teacher for today.’ A young man told us smiling widely. He was wearing casual jeans and a tight red shirt and converse sneakers. He was probably around seventeen, too young for a teacher and had blond hair and blue eyes and was quite muscly.

‘He’s hot.’ Amy told me in a whisper, making me giggle and made him look at us, flashing us a blinding smile. When we were all sorted into groups and had bows and arrows, I turned to Amy telling her to go first. After a few minutes of fighting Amy went first and shot the arrow, missing the board completely, which landed in the door of the clubhouse. I started laughing hysterically at her face. ‘Well you do it better then.’ I shook my head. I knew I’d probably do worse but I tried anyway. I aimed and to both our surprise it hit the bulls eye.  ‘No way in hell! Try it again.’ Amy told me. I shrugged carelessly and aimed one again. It landed once again in the bulls eye. ‘How do you do that?!’ I shook my head just as surprised as she was. I tried once again, sure that it must have been dumb luck. But another perfect hit proved me wrong.

‘Good job! You’re a natural. What’s your name?’ A voice asked me. I turned around and looked at Adam.

‘Uhm, thanks? Eliana…’

He looked at me thoughtfully for a second and then asked me a question that completely surprised me.  ‘Who are your parents?’

I looked at him strangely before asking. ‘Why?’

‘Just answer.’ He sighed.

‘Dunno… I’m an orphan.’ I looked back at Amy who’d left me, just as I needed her of course, and  had went to talk to someone else.  Great, note the sarcasm.

‘Do you by any chance have ADHD and dyslexia?’

I frowned at him. ‘That’s none of your business!’ I snapped, turning around to walk away from him.

He grabbed my arm. ‘What do you want?! LET. GO. OF. ME’ I ordered him, my voice turning dangerous.

‘Who’s your father?’

‘I told you! I don’t know. LEAVE ME ALONE!’

‘Lower your freaking voice!’

‘NOT UNLESS YOU LET ME GO!’

He dropped my arm. ‘Ok, I’ve released you. Now stop yelling en please drop your bow. We don’t want any accidents.’ I glared at him, I was pissed, but still did as he told me to. He looked around, like he was checking if someone was watching us. ‘I.. I think I might know who your father is.’

Now he had my full attention. ‘Who?’

He looked at me sadly. ‘I’m afraid I’m not allowed to tell you but you have to trust me. I want to take you to someone who can.’ I narrowed my eyes.

‘How do I know I can thrust you?’

He sighed. ‘You don’t. But you’re going to have to try.’

The gears in my head were turning as fast as they possibly could. After a while my curiosity won it from my anxiety. ‘Fine. I’ll come with you, but don’t try anything I won’t like because I know Karate and I will kick your butt! Ok?’ Total lie, but he didn’t have to know that. Apparently he didn’t cause he nodded and sent another look at the other people before motioning me to follow me to his car which I did. Normally that would have been one of the stupidest things someone could possibly do, but I had the feeling I had to.

‘Where are we going?’

‘Camp.’

‘What camp?’

He turned to smile at me. ‘Camp H…’ Just at that moment something slammed into our car. I remembered screaming before everything went black.
