Goodbye is such sweet sorrow... Yes I hate that sentence too

‘What happened?’

‘What do they want?’

‘Where did they take you?’

‘What will happen next?’

‘Let them rot in Azkaban!’

Were the sentences thrown at me as soon as I re-entered the prison-like thing-y. Wow, I’m so accurate! It’s killing me. The last one was of course Amy.

‘LET THE DEMENTORS KISS TH-‘

‘SHUT UP AMY!’ We all yelled making her pout.

My brothers seemed to see that something was wrong because they shared a look and Elian said, ‘Eliana? It everything okay?’ I shook my head and sat down on the floor. ‘What happened?’

‘They’re only letting you go if I stay here.’ I said softly.

‘What?!’ Several voices asked me.

‘I have to.’ I told them. ‘One of the heat will need to sacrifice.’ I quoted the poem. ‘Remember?’

‘We can’t just leave you here!’ Gabriel said. ‘We’re not leaving you here!’

I smiled sadly before getting up and hugging him tightly. ‘It’s okay Gabe.’ I whispered. He seemed surprised I’d called him Gabe which made a small smile appear on my face. ‘I’ll be fine.’  I turned to the others again. ‘Tomorrow I have to tell my choice. I will choose for your freedom, and that of the other campers.’ I smiled bravely.

Amy sobbed and attacked me with a bear hug. ‘You’re a true Gryffindor.’ She told me proudly. Despite the situation I let out a laugh.

‘Thanks Ames. That means a lot to me.’

‘I’m glad it does.’ I hugged her again before turning to the others. ‘I’m saying goodbye to you now so you can leave immediately tomorrow.’ I told them which came with a lot of protesting sounds from them. I waved them away and hugged Monday first.

‘Stay crazy.’ I told her with a smile. She returned it half-heartedly.

‘I’m going to miss you.’ She told me.

‘I know.’ I laughed. ‘I’m one of a kind, irreplaceable.’ She rolled her eyes.

‘You love yourself way too much.’

‘Yeah.’ I laughed. After I’d hugged everyone Gabriel pulled me apart.

‘You know I’m not leaving right?’ He said.

‘Yes you are.’ I told him sternly. His brow furrowed.

‘I am not going to leave you here with them!’

‘If you want to stay alive you are!’

‘If I leave you here on your own you’ll be the one who ends up dead!’

‘I don’t give a flying f-‘ I was cut off midsentence by his lips pressing against mine. I wrapped my arms around his neck totally lost in his kiss until I was suddenly hit in the face by reality. ‘Don’t you dare kiss me when I’m angry! I’m not changing my mind!’ I said angrily. ‘You are leaving tomorrow whether you like it or not!’

‘Not obviously!’

I’m doing what is best for you all!’

‘No you are not!’

‘YES I AM! YOU HAVE NO IDEA!’ I yelled at him. I turned away from him and sat down on the opposite side of the room with my face in my hands. An uncomfortable tension filled the entire room after our argument. Nobody said a thing.

I was actually glad when the sunrise started. After a while I checked the sun again. Seven o’clock. They’ll be arriving soon. I braided my blondish hair and shook Amy and Atalanta, who were closest to me, awake.

‘They’re coming.’ I told them and they seemed to understand the hidden meaning and nodded.

‘We will take care of ourselves and them.’ They both said. They understood me perfectly. Am I that obvious or are they just awesome? Well Atalanta isn’t awesome, Amy kinda is.

The door was opened and I followed the Romans out. I glanced back to my friends for the last time, most of them were still sleeping, and straightened my back. Nothing was going to take me down.
