I was staring away in the distance when I suddenly felt a wave of heat washing over me. ‘Uh, Eliana?’ Steven asked.
‘Yeah?’ Just as I asked I saw what he was talking about. In front of my feet lay a beautiful golden bow and an arrow with a celestial bronze tip. I gasped. Wow. I picked it up and it turned into a golden necklace and ring.
‘Wow.’ Adam and Steven said. ‘That’s cool.’ I fastened my necklace and put on my ring with a big smile on my face. It had given me new confidence. After we had checked if we had everything Argus drove us all out of camp to start our journey. I was a bit nervous but the other’s didn’t seem to be. Steven and Adam were cracking jokes and Elian was lecturing them about their childish behaviour, like usually. Atalanta was staring out of the window and was softly humming away to the radio. I looked at Gabriel who seemed to be looking at me worriedly. ‘You ok?’ He mouthed and I nodded reassuringly. Then the van stopped and we got out. I got my backpack out of the backseat and put it on my back.
‘So where to next?’ Adam asked me.
‘I-i-I don’t know…’ I confessed. ‘But I think Atalanta probably does.’ She looked up questioningly.
‘How should I know?’ I took a deep breath.
‘The Moon’s only will know, where they will need to go.’ I quoted the prophecy in a whisper. ‘So, what do you think.’
She closed her eyes and took a few deep breaths. ‘San Francisco.’
Elian and Gabriel shared a look and Adam and Steven gasped. ‘What’s wrong with San Francisco?’ I asked.
‘San Francisco is where the Garden of the Hesperides is located it is where Atlas holds up the sky, it is where the Titans' base , Mount Othrys, is located. It is also where the Mist is at its strongest. One word Danger!’ Adam told me.
‘Wow, isn’t that reassuring? Come on, let’s go!’ They shared a look but they did come. We walked through the streets of New York. Suddenly I saw them. In the distance were two girls, one with green hair and one with black hair. My jaw dropped. ‘AMY! MONDAY!’ Their heads snapped up and they saw me.
‘ELIANA!’ They broke in a run and came to halt in front of us before attacking me with a bone breaking hug. I hugged them back until Gabriel coughed and brought me back to reality.
‘Oh, yeah sorry. Girls, meet Steven, Adam, Elian, Gabriel…’
‘Gabe…’ He coughed.
I rolled my eyes, ‘Like I said, Gabriel and Atalanta.’ I turned to the others. ‘Meet Monday and Amy.’ As they said their hello’s, my thoughts drifted back to the prophecy. ‘Two mortal will change the song.’ I whispered. ‘That’s it!’ I turned to Gabriel. ‘Gabriel! Two mortal will change the song!’ It took him exactly two seconds to figure out what I was talking about.
‘You think..?’ I nodded. I was sure. ‘Okay then… Tell them.’ I took a few reassuring breaths.
‘Girls… I told you about this whole demigod thing right?’ They nodded. ‘There was a prophecy spoken about this quest. It said this:
The moon’s only will know,
Where they will need to go.
Six will meet with others halfway.
One can make the sea obey.
Another four connected by the sun.
To find those who are frown upon.
Finally, two mortals will change the song.
But it was supposed to be so all along.
One of the heat will need to sacrifice.
And pay the other’s price.’ I finished. ‘I think you are the two mortals mentioned.’ Their jaws dropped but they nodded.
‘We will join you.’

Later that day we were sat somewhere in the woods around a campfire in sleeping bags. I felt drained of all energy. We’d fought two monsters up until now and on top of that the sun had gone down hours ago. I had trouble keeping my eyes open and my brothers seemed to have the same problem. The only one who didn’t seem knackered was Atalanta. The moon seemed to give her extra power. Well, she was the daughter of the moon goddess. She had offered to keep the first watch which we all had gratefully agreed on. I leaned back against Gabriel’s chest and closed my eyes. I felt him chuckle softly before wrapping an arm around my waist. Before I knew it I was fast asleep.
The next morning I was woken up by the warm sun shining on my face. I opened my eyes and blinked before getting up and stuffing my sleeping bag back in my backpack. I looked at the rest. The only ones already awake were Steven, Adam and Elian. Steven and Adam were planning to draw on Gabriel’s face and Elian was staring at, a now sleeping, Atalanta. ‘Yo, stalker.’ I smiled at him teasingly before patting his back and hitting Adam and Steven for even planning such a thing. I sat down next to Elian. ‘What’d you do?’ I asked him.
‘I don’t know!’ Was the answer I got.
‘Okaaay. Ask her and apologize.’
He nodded slowly before smiling. ‘Thanks. I’m glad you are our sister.’
‘I know. I’m awesome.’ I told him while I laughed. ‘Now excuse me, I have to stop those to idiots from drawing on Gabriel’s face with a waterproof marker.’ He laughed and shook his head.
‘Good luck with that. They don’t listen to anybody.’
‘I know. They just need sister-like figure in their life to kick their ass and keep them in line. Come, on.’ I helped him to stand up. ‘Make your little sister some breakfast, will ya?’
I shook Amy and Monday awake. ‘Wake up lazy people!’ They groaned and turned around. I sighed. ‘I’m not kidding get up.’ I woke up Gabriel and Atalanta while they got out. Atalanta seemed more tired now the moon was down and the sun was up. After breakfast we continued our long journey to San Francisco.
