I walked all the way to my little master's house, all the while talking to him and learning things that he wanted me to do. He was a surprisingly prideful creature, even when he was so pathetically weak. And he made it a point to repeat about how he was a noble. Over and over.
"I am Ciel Phantomhive," he said, his voice still emotionless, but seeming to grow in strength. "My parents are dead, and my house has been destroyed by a large fire." He turned his head to me, illuminated by the light of the moon. "Why are you heading to where my house was?"
"Do not worry, young master," I said soothingly, tucking his ratty dark-blue hair behind his ear. "I will take care of everything. Please rest."
He grew quiet, and was still until we arrived at the burned, destroyed building. As he saw the dark, ashy house, he began to breath sharply in my arms. He tensed and shoved his hands against his ears, his breathing quickening as his eyes widened. "No no no no no no no," he said in between his shallow gasps of air, looking away. I gently put him on the ground, facing away from the house. He immediately curled into a tiny ball, and continued to repeat his sentence over and over.
I sighed as I turned back and looked up at the destroyed house. It was in very bad condition, and by humans, it would take probably at least six months to repair, or even more.
But as for me...
About thirty seconds later, I tapped my master's shoulder. "Young Master, please get up." He was muttering still, but his eyes opened slightly as he looked up at me. His eyes widened as he took in my new appearance, one of a human male with black hair and a butler uniform, and my eyes still glowing slightly crimson. "Demon...?" he asked in a hoarse whisper, as if he was making sure it was me.
I smiled and gestured to the perfectly constructed Phantomhive manor behind me. "A noble must live in a noble dwelling," I said as I opened the front door, the light inside spilling out and shining on his shocked face. He slowly stood up, not taking his eyes off the manor, and then walked through the door. He looked around, his small mouth gaping, as he saw everything as it was before the fire.
I ushered him into the dining room, where a huge feast was set out. There had to have been at least thirty different kinds of dishes, and all was steaming hot and cooked to perfection. I pulled out a chair for him, and he sat down, his eyes wide. I simply beamed and held a gloved hand out toward the food. "Please enjoy~"
He hesitated, then pulled a small piece of bread off of a bread tray and held it in his hands. "Demon..." he said, turning and looking up at me. "You cannot do this. Recreating an entire mansion and all of this food in such a short period of time will attract too much attention." He nibbled at the bread, looking down. "At least do pretend to do it in steps, like a human."
I sighed, then nodded. "How tiresome. But as you wish."
He ate half of the bread, then put it down, sighing. "I want to go to bed. Take me to my room."
I bowed, then picked him up. "Yes, my lord. Do you wish to bathe first?"
He shook his head. "No. I said I'm tired."
I took him into his room, and then pulled back the sheets as I laid him down. "I will greet you in the morning, young master," I said, tucking him in. I then stood up and turned off the lamp. "Goodnigh-"
"Wait!" He jerked up, facing me in the dark. "Turn that lights on!"
I quickly turned the light back on, my eyes wide as I looked at him. Then I could tell what was wrong. His expression was one of pure terror and fear.
"Young master?"
His small hands tightened around the sheets as his expression turned harsh. "I order you to sit by me as I sleep. And not to leave me."
I looked at him, then smiled and bowed. "As you command." I then pulled over the chair that was accompanying his desk and put it on the side of the bed farthest from him, then sat down. "I will be here until you wake."
He stared at me, his gaze piercing. He then laid back down, his little head sinking into the downy pillow. "Good. And don't turn off the light."
I smiled and nodded. "Yes, My..."
I trailed off, then smiled and pulled up the covers to my young master's chin.
He was already fast asleep.
