Chapter 16: Catching Up

I wash the dishes as Mariah and Hailey finish eating their waffles. I kind of feel lost. I don't really know what to do now. I log on to my google profile and email one of my old friends from before I moved to LA. He replies to my chat as soon as I send him the message.

How are you beautiful?

I smile. I always smiled when he would send me messages like that.

Been better. u?

Oh. :( Whats wrong?

Well I just broke up with my boyfriend. What u up to?

Nothin much. You wanna get together somewhere?

I'd love to. Wanna meet at Starbucks?

Sure see ya soon.

I tell the girls I'm going to meet a friend and ask them if they could take me to rent a car for the time I'm here. I don't want to keep driving my dad's truck. Plus he has to use it for work, so I can't use it then. they gladly drive me to the dealership. They also help me pick out a nice car.

After I pick a car, Mariah and Hailey go to their apartment and I drive to the closest Starbucks. It's about 20 minutes from the dealership.

"Hey!" I get really excited when I see Jared sitting at a table, waiting for me.

"Hey!" I run up to him and give him a huge hug. I missed him so much.

"So this trouble of yours. Anything I can do to help?" He asks with a smile on his face. A kind smile, not a haha, you lost your boyfriend smile.

I order  hot chocolate and sit down at the table. Jared and I get into a discussion about everything that's happened in the last 2 years. For some reason, he didn't seem to believe that Niall was my boyfriend. Does anybody read magazines here?!

He's got a really amazing girlfriend that I hope I will be lucky enough to meet someday.

I finish my hot chocolate and I feel like I should leave, but I don't want to go home. I don't want the chance of Niall sitting there waiting for me. I look down at my feet. Jared must have noticed something was wrong.

"Are you ok?"

"Yeah. I just don't feel like going home right now."

"Then don't.  Let's make a day of it."

First he takes me to the park. I haven't been to the park in like 2 years. When we get there, he pushes me on the swing. Oh how my life has changed.

"I miss it." I think out loud.

"What?" He asks while still pushing me.

"I miss when I got to talk to you every day.  I miss not getting hate from directioners.  I miss my life."

"I have an idea. But you have to go along with it if you want to have your life back for a day."

Jared and I spend the day doing things we used to do. We went to the amusement park, went bowling, went to the arcade. I still wasn't ready to go home. I got a hotel room nearby.  Jared didn't want me to be there  by myself, so he payed half the cost and stayed with me for a little while.

Hey guys. So it's New Years day, my friends are all sleeping and its 3:30 am. I need to go to bed now. I hope you enjoy the chapter! And I really hope my friend doesn't tackle me over this one... love ya though. Night everybody.
