Chapter 29: Road Trip

"Guys! Come on! Let's go!" I shout putting the rest of our stuff in the trunk of the Mustang. It took about twenty minutes to get the trunk to actually close.

"Alright! Alright!" Mariah laughs as she throws her bag in the back of the car and jumps in.

"Goodbye Miami!" I laugh and pull out of the hotel parking lot.

 “I’m hungry! Can we stop and get something to eat?” Hailey whines.

“Alright.” I laugh and pull off the freeway. “What do you guys want?”

“Let’s just get something quick, like Subway.” Mariah suggests.

I pull into the Subway parking lot and hop out of the car.

“Anybody else wanna take a turn driving?” I ask as I open the door to Subway for them.

“I guess I will, but we’re making a few tourist stops.” Hailey smiles.

“Fine!” I say and Mariah starts giving her order.

“Hi, I’ll have a turkey on wheat.” I smile.

After we finish ordering our sandwich, I give the woman the credit card the Niall gave me to use for food, gas, lodging, and even souvenirs.

“You look really familiar.” She says to me.

“I don’t think you know me, I’m from Minnesota and I live in California.” I try to avoid her freaking out. We are still in Florida, pretty close to the border though. So I don’t think she’s seen me around.

“No, you definitely look familiar!” She shakes her finger at me.

I roll my eyes and sigh, “Can we just pay for our food while you try to figure it out?”

As she runs the card through she yells, “Niall Horan! You’re his girlfriend!”

“SHHH!!!!” Hailey, Mariah, and I all shush her at the same time.

“Right, sorry, sign this please.” She says as she hands me a receipt and a blank sheet of paper. It's always weird when people ask fo my autograph! I sign both and we walk out to the car. We eat our sandwiches in the car. Mariah finishes first and starts driving while Hailey and I finished. And as usual, I finished last.

"It's getting late Hailey, we should probably stop somewhere to sleep." I smile at Hailey in the driver's seat.

"Yeah, I'll pull off at the next exit." She smiles.

As the next exit gets closer, we pass a sign that says lodging with a list of hotels. 

We pull off the freeway and into a hotel parking lot. We put the top of the corvette up. After it is up and the car is locked, I go inside and check in while Hailey and Mariah bring in the bags.

*A week and a half later*

I pull into Niall's driveway with his car and we begin unpacking our bags. I grabbed a bunch of bags and walked them up to the steps. I unlocked the door, picked the bags up, open the door, and dropped them back on the floor of the entryway. I leave the door open and go help with the rest of the bags. 

When I get back to the car, Mariah and Hailey already have the rest of the bags in their hands. While they go inside, I close the trunk and start cleaning out the car of garbage and our bags and other fun stuff that we got along the way.

I go inside with the rest of the stuff that I grabbed from the trunk and plop down on the couch. "I'm so exhausted! Why in the world am I so exhausted from sitting in a car for a week and a half?!"

"No clue!" Mariah says as she sits in one of the chairs next to the couch.

"Well I'm gonna go and relax in the pool for a bit." I smile and get up from the couch.

"I'll be out there in a second." Mariah says as I pull my bag upstairs. I open my suitcase and pull out my bikini. I begin putting it on in Niall's room. I grab a towel and my phone and walk out to the pool. I set my phone on the edge of the pool with the towel. I sit down and put my feet in. I sit there for a second and kick my feet. 

After I get used to the temperature, I push myself in and over to the edge of the pool. I love Niall's pool! It's got the glass wall on the edge with a great view. 

I put my arms on the glass and rest my head on them. I close my eyes and just relax for a second. I almost fall asleep, but luckily someone saves me when my phone starts ringing. I dive underwater and swim back over to my phone. I dry my hands off on my towel and answer the video call from Niall.

"Hey babe!" I smile resting my like I was on the other side of the pool.

"So I see you made it home safely!" He smiles.

"Yep." I smile. "So how is everyone?" 

"Good." He says. "We're all excited to be back home"

"As are we. Mariah is pretty excited for you guys to be back too." I smile.

"What are you saying about me?" Mariah asks as she steps outside with her towel.

"How excited you are for the guys to be home." I smile as she inches into the pool. 

"So what time did you guys get home?" Niall asks.

"Um, maybe 9:45. I'll probably be going to bed soon." I smile. 

"Well I can let you go if you want." 

"Yeah, I think I'm gonna go get ready for bed now."

"Alright. Night Babe! Love you."

"Night, Love you too." I smile before I hang up. I put my phone down and step out of the pool.
