(Y/N)'s Pov

It was a normal day for everyone... everyone except us. Life can be difficult... can't it? Why... Why is it we reject everything we don't understand? We call them monsters... but... aren't we the true monsters? Faith... it's little I have left in our species... humans...

"Back you monster!"

Tom hissed as he pulled away his slightly burned arm from contact with Edd. Edd... he wasn't normal at all... Radioactive goo fell from his mouth and eyes. He was in pain... I could just feel it. Matt was backed up against the wall in fear. I was just standing in the middle of this. I looked at Edd. I couldn't lie, I was terrified. It looked as if he were trying to cry, but instead that radioactive stuff flowed down his cheeks.

"I-It h-hURts-s...!"

He cried out in pain as he gripped him hair tightly. His eyes were now green with a toxic sign in them. I want to help him! I need to help him! Now! I reached my arm towards him-only to be stopped by Tom as he pushed my arms down and pulled me back, away from Edd.

"Let me go!"

I snapped at Tom and I tried escaping his grasp.

"Are you insane? You'll die if you get close to that thing!"

I bared my teeth back in anger. What did he just call him.

"YOUR A SUCH HORRIBLE FRIEND! HOW CAN YOU SAY SUCH A THING TO HIM!?!"

I pulled my arms harshly until I escaped from his grip. I knew he was going to try to grab me again so I turned around and pushed him away from me. Immediately after that I turned to look at Edd. He was looked right back at me. He eyes showed pain... I bit my lip. I ran over to him and grabbed him in a tight hug. I don't care if I get showered by the radioactive goo... He's in pain... I don't want to see him like that. I buried my face into his chest against his green hoodie. We stood there silently for a few moments, before I felt two arms wrap around me. I slowly looked up to see Edd.. his head was tilted away from me, preventing any of the radioactive goo to fall onto me. A dark blush was clearly visible on his face. My gaze softened.

"Edd... How long has this been happening to you...?"

I asked him softly. I heard a gulp come from him as his arms pulled me closed to him. He wouldn't look at me.

"For a long... long time..."

He managed to spit out. I slightly tilted as I gazed at him sympathetically.

"Why didn't you tell us? Why didn't you tell me...?"

I looked up at him, awaiting a response. He went quiet for a few moments. I didn't rush him... he clearly was thinking of what to say... He closed his eyes and let out a deep sigh.

"...Because I knew you all would reject me... Because I'm radioactive... Because... I'm dangerous..."

His hug loosened and he slowly started pulling away from me.

"...You shouldn't be near me..."

My eyes narrowed as I looked up at him. My hug tightened so he wouldn't escape.

"I'm not letting you go until you stop thinking like that. I didn't reject you. Nor will I ever... because I..."

I bit my lip as I was hesitant at my next words.

"I-I... I love you. Knowing this about you doesn't change a thing. Heck, it makes you special. Don't let anyone call you a monster..."

I turned and glared at Tom shamefully before I looked back at Edd.

"Because you're not a monster. At least not in here..."

I placed my hand on his chest where his heart is located, relating to my current statement. I saw his lips slightly curve into a soft smile.

"It'll be over soon... trust me Edd..."

His eyes darted to look at me.

"A-As long as I'm with you... I w-won't mind the p-pain... I l-love you too..."

I softly giggled at his words before I closed my eyes and buried my face into his chest. It'll all be over soon...
