Hey everybody, this is my first fanfic ever so please bare with me. I've read a lot of fanfics so if I accidentally use some of your ideas, I'm sorry. In this fanfic, Percy and Annabeth are still demigods and the gods are still there. Okay so, on with the story.

Chapter 1
Percy's POV:
Today was the day of the reaping.
Annabeth and I live in Panem. Each year, the capital held the hunger games. The hunger games is where 24 children, two from each of the 12 districts, from the ages of 12-18 compete in a battle the the death. Annabeth and I live in district 12. Athena's district. Annabeth's mother let me live in this district only because of annabeth's constant begging.
" Are your ready Percy?" Annabeth called from the door.
I quickly slipped my shoes on and ran out.
"You nervous?" I asked annabeth.
She took my hand and thought for a moment. "A little"
"Well, May the odds be ever in your favor" I said in the wierd capital accent.
She laughed and got in line to get her finger pricked.
After they got some of my blood, I wished annabeth good luck and went to stand where the 17 year old boys stood.
Soon the anthem started and the short video was played on the screen.
" Happy Hunger Games! And may the odds be ever in your favor. Welcome to the 84th hunger games!" Effie Trinket announced as the video ended.
" As usual, ladies first" she said as she walked over to the pool of names and picked one.
" Annabeth Chase"
I nearly fainted. My Annabeth, going into the games! This could not be happening.
Then suddenly, an older girl that I didn't recognize raised her hand and yelled " I volunteer as tribute!"
I breathed out a sigh of relief. That was too close.
" Ahh, a volunteer. What's your name dear?"
"Scarlett Johnson," the older girl announced bravely.
"Well, let's give a hand for Scarlett!" Effie cried while clapping. Nobody clapped but gave hey the three finger salute.
I gave Annabeth a reassuring look and she look scared and relieved.
" And now, for the boys," Effie exclaimed while walking to the pool of names for boys. Then, she said the names that would change my life forever.
"Perseus Jackson"
