Percy's POV:

Slaming into a huge wave of poison was not the highlight of my day. My body felt like I was rolled over by a tractor in the river styx. Something I never want to expierience again. After getting thrown around the cornucopia a couple times, I managed to shoot myself onto land just before I passed out on the dirt.

-------time-skip--------------------

My body hurt. Everything was burning and my skin was red from the water. I spit a mouthful of dirt and sat up. All my memories of the day flashed back to me. I was in the hunger games, I tooke a knife for Annabeth-. Annabeth! Where is Annabeth? Is she still alive? What if she isn't. No! Don't think like that Percy! I felt a light tap on my shoulder and whirl around with riptide out since my dad enchanted it to be able to hurt mortals for the hunger games. A second passed before I pinned down the figure behind me, getting ready to kill him or her before I stopped. It was the eleven year old, Rue.

"What are you doing?" I asked, calming down a bit, "you know sneaking up on me like that would get you killed right?" she looked slightly frightned since Riptide was still at her throat."Oh sorry," I said and put Riptide back into pen form. Her eyes widened.

"How did you do that?" She asked astonished.

"Uh," I couldn't tell her about the gods.

Out of nowhere, a bright light flashed above her head and a lyre appeared over her head. Apollo just claimed her.

"Rue, do you know the stories of greek gods and goddesses?" I gave her the complete You-are-a-demigod-speach and explained Riptide to her.

I could tell she was a daughter of Apollo because the knife I took for Annabeth was now out of be and I had a makeshift bandage of leaves there instead. We talked for a bit and I found out It's been a day since the Hunger Games started. Soon, the sky darkened and the anthem started to play. Because of all the cameras around, the capital people knew I was out for the last anthem so they showed all of the dead. Rue told me the new deaths consisted of the boy from district 3 and district 8's female. I really did not want to see Annabeth's face in the sky. I felt a huge wave of relief when the anthem stopped after showing district 10.

I smiled at Rue."Let's get some rest, I'll take first watch."

"Okay then," Rue curled up on the ground and was soon asleep. The quietness of the arena made me uneasy. I didn't think there was anywhere on earth this quiet since there was a lightning storm about an hour ago. Dark clouds tinted red started to form above us and soon it started to rain. After I realized the rain water wasn't poisoned, I open my mouth to try to catch some water. As soon as a drop landed in my mouth, I recoiled at the taste. This was definatly not rainwater. I lifted my hand and saw it dripping with blood, fresh blood. The smell of iron was getting really strong and the rain was getting heavier.

"Rue!" I yelled shaking her shoulder, "get up!"

Slowly, she started to stir but her eyes snapped open when she got a wif of the smell."What's going on?" her eyes large and fearful.

"It's rainning blood, run!" I grabbed our stuff and pulled Rue along.

Blood in now pouring down on us. The air was getting thicker and harder to breathe in. Rue suddenly stopped and grabbed her throat. She was chocking on the blood rainning down on us.

"Rue!" I yelled and turn back to pick her up.

The blood was now up to my mid calf and trying to run through it with a slightly heavy backpack, Rue in my arms and while trying to use my power over water to withdraw the blood from my lungs was not easy. But thankfully, I was able to stop Rue from choking but I still carried her, considering the blood would be up above her knee if she ran. The rain pounded down heavier by the second and soon I could barely see anything but red. Up ahead, I could make out the faint outline of the cornucopia. I controlled the water in the blood and made it push us to the beach surrounding the cornucopia. The blood rain only seemed to be in a small part of the arena. Everywhere else was bright and sunny. Confused and exhausted, I collapsed into the sand.

------time skip--------------------

"Percy!" Rue gently shook my shoulders to wake me up.The both of us were still covered in blood. "Listen," she whispered.

I froze as I heard a yell of pain and rustling in the bushes.

I recognized that voice.

"Annabeth!"

There! Do you think I should kill Rue? Please comment! The next chapter should be up soon.
