Pearl A.P.D.A.A.A.H.R. Jackson

Time Period/ Age: Pearl just finished doing 115 push ups/ Almost 14

Location: Camp Half-Blood

"Why is she doing this again," mom asked.

"25 push ups for every mistakes she made. I don't care if her wrists are burnt, and no, this can not wait," Coach Phil explained.

"Just this," my mom began. I just finished and had sat down chris-cross-apple-sauce.

"She drank nectar, she's fine enough to do the simple drills at her level," Coach Phil told her.

"I want her on the easy drills for a week, at least," Mom said.

"She's tougher than you think, look at her. She did 125 push ups with out breaking a sweat," Coach Phil said.

"Please," she whispered. "I almost lost her once, don't make me go back to that room wondering 'what the heck am I going to do to keep my kids safe,'" she whispered. Coach sighed in defeat.

"Pearl," he called me over and pulled me to the side. "Now, we haven't exactly gone over your easy drills." I gave him a confused look.

"I have easy drills," I asked.

"Let's head over to the training course and I'll explain," he said. When we reached the forest he began to talk. "When you came to Arrows Academy, I knew from the moment you walked through the door you were going to be legend. Of course, you had been at Arrows ally, Dustin Academy, and they kept an eye on you when you went to Lincoln Elementary with your brother. And each one of your teachers said the exact same thing, 'she needs to be challenged'. But, when you were assigned to my class, I underestimated you. I put you in the easiest class when really you were at a near Knows level. You were right underneath, that's how good you were. Add your determination to get better, you coming after school to train at your own will, and the fact that your athletic put you up higher.

"At that rate you already pasted then three quarters of the student body. Then your sword fighting came. You were a natural. You didn't know how or what you were doing, but it seemed like every time you touched a sword, you knew what to do. And you wanted to get better. It came to a point that only a tenth of the student body and faculty were above you. Do you realize how hard it was to give you a drill, you end up mastering it in a week, sometimes two days!"

"Sorry Coach," I began. "I didn't know how hard I was making it for you."

"Don't apologize, you were the one that made my boring life, exciting."

"So the drills?"

"Pearl, the reason I stopped giving you the easy drills is because it's nothing for you." I nodded in understanding. "Now here is the map of the camp." Coach got out an old piece of paper. "Now there is a climbing wall, an armory, an arena and, of course, the clearing. Kind of like Arrows except we have a couple more things that you could have trained with, don't tell them I said that," I nodded. "First, you'll climb the wall fifteen times, five in easy, medium and hard. This will help you in arm strength and a bit in your little gift missy."

"About that, I was wondering if I could tell my brothers about that," I asked.

"It's your gift, but be carful who you tell," he said as we were about to enter the wall climbing area. Three of the walls were straight up but two or three had a really big curve.

"You pick two of the straight up walls and I pick the curve one," he ordered. Great! Note the sarcasm, please.

I picked a random wall and got the gear on and climbed it no problem.
