We just look at each other, it's as if we're meeting for the first time again. "Kristopher."
"Laina," he whispers, Eli slowly backs away going to the locker room. "You came back." I nod my head.
"I'm sorry I left," I say, Carson holds my hand. "I was such an idiot for leaving."
"You knew I wouldn't get mad," he says.
"I should've. I woke up with a hangover and I didn't know what to do. So I packed a few things and left," I explain.
"Why didn't you just tell me?" He asks.
"I know I should've! I just couldn't get the courage to. We went seven months saying I love you, but we were never a couple. I thought I would hurt you," I say.
"Elaina! You know I wouldn't of gotten mad or of been hurt by you sleeping with someone when we weren't together! I was hurt whenever you left!" He yells.
"Don't yell at my mommy!" Carson yells, she had to say I was her mom, great.
He crouched in front of her. "She's your mommy?" Carson nods. "Well, im sorry, where's your daddy?"
   "I don't know," she shrugs.
He stands back up looking at me. "This is the guy you hooked up with's daughter?" I nod my head.
We, we should go, come on Carson," I say. She waves to him and we walk out.
"Who was that?" She asks.
"Kris Bryant, I'll tell you about him when you're older," i say, what do I do about Kris? It's like he has a whole different view on me, he hates me now. Carson is about to start kindergarten too, I don't have a job either, what could I do? I remember emails from angry parents asking why I wasn't teaching anything and I wasn't even there.
At home, I attempt to unload things and put them up. I put in our couch which took two hours, table and rugs, and then set up our beds while Carson slept. I sigh and change into some pajamas before joining her.
I kiss her forehead and go to sleep, still wondering why Kris was so mean to me.

The next day at five, I decided to get Carson and I ready for the game, she started school next week. I put her in her jeans that she loved and a pink tee shirt that she chose out. She wanted to wear her black converse I had bought her for her birthday, and she sat in front of me so I could do her hair. I brushed out her curly brunette locks while she watched cartoons. I decided to do two french broads which would take a while, she liked them really tight. After I was done, I let her go and she ran away. "Don't mess up your hair!"
I walk to my bathroom and put on some jeans and a blue tee shirt. I put my hair in a messy bun and out on a headphone.
I prime my face then do foundation which was just a bit lighter than my skin tone, they didn't have my skin tone. I put on concealer for under my eyes and blemishes. I then bake my face. I then out on a shimmery eye shadow and Carson came running in. "Someone calling!" She handed me my phone and I see it was just a stupid sales person, I decline it and continue doing my makeup. I put on eye liner then mascara. I put on blush then a nude lipstick and decided it was good enough. I take out my hair and put it in a side braid. Why had I been putting on so much makeup? Was I scared of my identity? I guess.
"Carson! We need to go!" I shout to her, I heard her drop her toys and come running to me. I got her a milkshake before the game and we drove there. Holland wanted to see Carson badly and she brought her son Jacob too.
"Hey E," Holland smiles. I looked at the blonde boy and smiled. He had gray eyes and blonde hair, he was taller for his age? But Holland is tall too, she's 5'10. "This is Jacob, Jacob this is Elaina."
I smile at the boy and Carson looked down. "Hi Jacob, this is Carson."
"Hi!" Jacob happily says and hugs her.
"He likes to hug," Holland says. I chuckle and look at Carson just awkwardly standing there.
"Who's your husband?" I ask, studying her diamond ring.
"An amazing guy named Aiden Perry," Holland daydreams. I roll my eyes at her.
"I would love to meet him one day," I smile.
"Good," Holland smiles, "I'll buy her something to eat, and no you can't pay me back." She takes their hands and leaves.
"Good luck!" I tell the whole team, Eli hugging me.
Back to old ways, Kris last. "So, Laina." That old smirk plastered on his face.
"Kristopher," I emphasize, smirking back at him. "Why did you just look at me?"
Kris walks up to me, and looks down at me. "Don't you think a little girl would think it's weird I did this to her mom?" I give him a confused look then he kisses me.
