14. Illusion

The next morning I rushed downstaires. I was allready in my uniform and I had my bag. I went inside Alfie's room and I saw Jerome and Fabian taking care of him. He was still in shock. He was paranoid!

"Alfie don't freak out!" I whispered.

I grabbed his hands and he started shaking really hard. He was twitching. "I can't breathe you guys!" He yelled.

I dug inside my bag for water. Alfie was about to die! I found a bottle and gave it to Alfie. Patricia and Amber came through the door.

Alfie was turning purple. This time he yelled in pain.

"Nina! Did you give him that water?!" Patricia yelled.

"Yeah why?" I asked scared.

"That was the elixer that I put in lastnight!" She said.

Oh my god! I poisoned Alfie with something I didn't know! "Go get help!" Jerome yelled. I ran outside the room and saw Trudy!

"Trudy!" I yelled. "Something is wrong with Alfie!"

I didn't want to know why Trudy was here, we just needed help!

Trudy went inside the room and called the police. In 10 minutes the ambulance came rushing inaide. Everyone ran down. Mara came down and Mick went inside the room.

The ambulance took Alfie away. Victor left with the ambulance as well.

"Okay you guys." Trudy said. "Victor hired me back. And i'll be here from now on. So go to class. You guys don't want to be late."

Later that day the Sibuna gang went to the celler for clues. This was a dead end. Patricia left to the hospital with Alfie. Once we entered the celler with the secret passage we turned our flashlights on.

"Look for something hot." Fabian siad. "The clue said place of fire. Something hot or -"

"Flames!" Amber yelled. She pointed the flashlight to the corner of the wall. There was a painting and two logs being burnt. Under it was a handle and inside that handle was a really huge ring.

"It's so shiny." Amber said. "Now what?"

Fabian grabbed the ring and yanked it. He broke the handle and now the ring was free.

We studied the ring. It's trim was yellow. It had fire drawn on it. Fabian looked inside the ring.

"Look you guys!" He said. "It says something!"

"Let's go upstaires." I suggested. Fabian agreed. We all walked upstaires into mine and Amber's room.

Fabian read outloud what the ring had inside.

"Beleathered and clasped the one place where 'yesterday' always follows 'tomorrow"

My phone rang imediatly! It was Patricia. I answered. "You guys! Come to the hospital quickly!"

We were behind the hospital where it had seemed like an old ware house. Patricia was there waiting for us. In the corner I saw Rufus in a wheel-chair. 

"I found Rufus!" Patricia said. "Victor was talking to a nurse. He said she better make everything possible to make Rufus in the hospital until furthur notice."

"Why though?" I asked.

"I don't know." She said. "And get this. Alfie said that when he was down in the celler he saw Victor and a whole bunch of other people in really long coats. They all drank the elixer. And they kept doing a hand single."

Patricia demonsrated. She placed both of her hand together and in the middle of the two hands was an opening kind of looking like an upside down eye, or a triangle.

"The illuminati." Fabian said. "It all makes sence now! Victor is in the illuminati and he sold his soul and now he is young with all his other friends! And that's why Alfie was all paranoid!"

"Okay." I said. "What about Rufus? What do we do with him? He's on our side."

Amber went over to Rufus and slapped him. "RUFUS WAKE UP!" She slapped him one more time.

Fabian chuckled. Rufus was comming to.

"Rufus?" Patricia said. "It's me Patricia!"

"Patricia!" He said. "Who are they?"

"That's the girl I told you about with the locket."

"Let me see?" He asked.

I showed him the locket. He tried taking it awat from me but I snatched it away quickly. He chuckled.

"That doesn't belong to you." He said.

"It was a gift from a friend." I said.

"That is very dangerous for you. The eye of huros is represented to bring bad luck."

"I thought the eye of horus was good luck?"

"But is it giving you good luck? Or bad luck?"

He had a point. Ever since this locket had been in my hands. Bad things had happened.

"Okay." Patricia said. "Here I brought you food. Stay behind here until you are sure you can manage by  yourself." She gave him a lunch bag with apples and bannas and other food.

We all walked away to head home. "Oh and Patricia! Good luck finding Joy."

Dear Diary,

  We have found another clue! This time our riddle is more confusing. Where does yesterday always follow tomorrow? And is Victor really in this whole Illuminati thing? What's Rufus connection with Joy? This is our biggest clue yet! We are close to our final clue. I can feel it.
