10. First Clue

When Day Time Ends At Midday, Through Tears Of Glass, The Eye Shall See.

"When day time ends at midday, through tears of glass, the eye shall see." Fabian read the secret message. The message was wrote on the platform of the inside of the octagon.

"And, what does this mean, exactly?" I asked. Midday was sunset, right?

"Is it a clue?" Amber asked holding the octagons. "It says here the eye shall see. Does it mean your locket, Nina?"

"I don't know." I answered her question. "Let's go down. Everyone's probably home already."

We packed our stuff to get ready and not look suspicious. I opened the secret panel to leave the jeweled octagon. Well, of course we would look suspicious.

Once we got downstairs everyone was at the entrance. Everyone was sweating and looked nervous, especially Patricia.

"What's going on?" Fabian asked. Victor took his bag along with mines and Amber's.

"Apparently, there was something stolen from Mr. Sweet's office." Victor explained, "And now, we are doing a bag search."

"You can't do that!" Patricia yelled at him. "I have personal information in there."

"What's wrong?" He asked sarcastically, "Is there something to hide?"

"No." Patricia's simple answer escaped her mouth. It was obvious that she did in fact have something to hide. But what? Victor took Patricia's bag by force and went to his office.

"Ugh." Patricia shrugged and left upstairs to her room as Mara followed her. Amber followed Mara secretly behind her back. As she reached the last steps upstairs, Amber signaled us to follow her.

"What is she up to now?" Fabian placed his hand on his face. I didn't question Amber so I did what she said and followed her with Fabian behind me.

Amber eavesdropped to Mara's and Patricia's conversation and gasped. "Listen!" Amber whispered.

Fabian and I placed our ear to the door and listened to their secretive conversation.

"I'm telling you Mara!" Patricia yelled, "Victor is going to find Joy's file in my bag!"

"You shouldnt've taken it!" Mara instructed, "If you wanted her phone number, you could've wrote down in your hand."

"I didn't have time, Mara!" She yelled back, "Mr. Sweet was already coming! Whatever, i'm going to get the file back one way or another."

"And how's that?" Mara asked. That's when we heard someone's footstep get closer to the door.

"I'm going to make the American spill out the truth." Patricia replied. And of course, Patricia would say this. She thinks it's ME who has a connection with Joy's disappearance.

"No you aren't!" Amber yelled and opened the door. Patricia gasped along with Mara. "Nina has nothing to do with Joy! Now get off her back!"

"Were you eavesdropping?" Patricia turned red like when Tinker Bell get's angry.

"Serves you right!" Amber yelled. "Now will you leave Nina alone?" Patricia looked at me with suspicious eyes, "Anyways, I thought you got an e-mail from Joy."

"A FAKE e-mail." Patricia yelled back. "The René is probably working for you Nina, isn't he?"

"René?" I asked. "If I knew who that I was I would tell you right now." Patricia started breathing heavily.
