❤ Chapter Six - Popstars and their crazy decisions ❤
I didn't know how many minutes had passed while I stood, frozen. Staring at Blake's iPhone 4S, staring at the ugly photo taken of me yesterday at the mall. I was faintly aware that the bell had rung, signalling the start of first period. But I was still firmly planted on the spot in front of my locker.
Blake waved a hand in front of my face. "Hello? Earth to Piper!" Let's see, how many times have I been so shocked that I couldn't talk or even move, today? Wow, two times in less than fifteen minutes! New record!
I blinked a few times, then forcefully pushed his hi-tech phone towards him. He took it and put it back in his jeans pocket, and then he pulled my chin up so that I was looking at him.
"Are you okay?" he asked. I didn't respond as he sighed and ran a hand through his messy hair.
"Come on," he grabbed my hand and led me towards the janitors closet where he had found me the other day, curled in a ball, crying and sobbing like there was no tomorrow. He flicked on the lights and locked the door behind me.
"Okay," he sighed. "Please say something."
It took me a few moments to think of something to say. "That tweet still doesn't explain why you grabbed me by my waist and kissed my forehead earlier."
"You just don't get it, do you?" he laughed while shaking his head. "I did that so that people won't think that you're Travis Jones's. Because I wanted them to know that you were with me, that you're mine."
I shook my head. "But I'm not yours," I pointed.
"I know, but they won't think that. Its either you're his, or you're mine. That's what happens when two boys fight for the girl they like," he said. It took some time to process what he said. Wait wait wait, rewind!
"Y-you... you like me?" I blinked. I watched as the reddest blush coated his cheeks. He looked at the ground, clearly embarrassed, and I could faintly hear him mumble the C-word under his breath. I swear, I couldve burst into laughter right then.
"Uh... that- that's not the point," he stammered. "It's just... I-I... wait, what are you gonna do about the tweet?"
Yeah, that was the big problem. What was I gonna do?
"I don't know. I mean, there's nothing I can do about it. It could just be fake, you know. Just a way for a celebrity like him to cause some celebrity-like drama."
I shrugged. Because in all honesty, it was shocking and mind-blowing at first, but when I actually thought about the situation, I realized that it wasn't really a big deal. Blake looked at me in bewilderment.
"Piper, can't you see? Everyone will be treating you like royalty. Every girl is gonna kiss up to you, paps are probably gonna swarm you. And all that without your consent, because some stupid son of a gun chose to think that he's in love with you!" he said rather angrily.
I only shrugged once again, indifferent. "Stop overthinking things, Blake! Besides, it's my life. Not yours." I turned around and opened the door, the brightness of the hallways momentarily blinding me. I debated on whether I should arrive to class ten minutes late, or just skip class entirely. Hmmm... I'll go with option two.
I still had about thirty minutes until class ended, so I decided to hide out in the girls bathroom with my phone, playing temple run. I had just beaten my high score when the door opened. Eyes wide, I quickly exited the app and tucked my feet up. I held my breath. Why? I don't know, I guess I just felt pressured or something. But then I saw the pair of shoes stop just in front of my stall.
