❤ Chapter Ten - Knight in shining armor ❤
The guy who was pulling on my strap suddenly spattered blood. I backed away, covering my eyes. And then I heard grunting and fighting, and I had to peak.
There was tall, dark figure punching one guy in the nose. One guy was already on the floor, unconscious.
The other guy kicked the tall guy and he staggered backward. And then the guy who was pulling on my strap wiped his nose and punched the tall guy in the stomach.
The tall guy grunted in pain, and then he jabbed his elbow to the right eye of the guy who kicked him and the guy clutched his eye, hissing in pain. And then the tall guy punched him multiple times.
When the guy who was pulling on my strap tried to punch the tall guy who saved me, the tall guy grabbed him by his collar and lifted him off of the ground.
"What did you do to her?" the tall guy growled. "What did you do, huh?!" he screamed so loud that I let out a small gasp.
"We-we didn't do anything," the drunk guy barely said. His friends were now lying unconsciously on the pavement.
"The next time you ever try to do that to a girl, you three better watch your backs. You and your little friends better sleep with your eyes open, or else I'll sneak into your room and-" I covered my ears then, since what the tall guy said was much toodisturbing.
I closed my eyes, breathing heavily. Suddenly, I heard the sound of knuckles connecting to someone's jaw, and someone being slammed into a wall, and then a loud grunt and then silence.
Someone lifted me off the ground and the next thing I knew, I was being carried bridal-style back to Emma's house. I squirmed and tried to escape, but the tall guy just said, "I just saved you, do you really think I would hurt you?"
So I stopped fighting.
The guy put me in the front seat of a car, and then he shut the door and got into the drivers seat. He drove wildly, and I couldn't help but feel like the whole car seemed very familiar. Maybe if it wasn't so dark, I'd be able to know why.
I sighed, shivering. And then I turned to face the tall guy. My eyes widened.
It was Blake.
I didn't know how to react. Should I be grateful? Mad? Apologetic?
"Are you okay?" he finally asked me. I gulped down, blinking tears that I didn't know where there, from my eyes.
My throat was dry, and I nodded.
"I'm taking you home," Blake said.
"I know," I replied. The ride was silent, until he spoke again.
"What did they do to you, Piper? I need every detail. Why were you in that party anyway?! What did those men say?" he bombarded me with questions.
It took me a moment to compose my thoughts, and then I replied, "I was in that party because somebody told me that you were going. I was looking for you because we needed to talk. After a while, I saw that you weren't there so I walked home, since there weren't taxis in sight. And... and that was when I heard them."
I took a shaky breath, closing my eyes. "They appeared in front of me, so I turned around and walked the other way. They caught up to me. One of them started stroking my hair, and one of them tried to touch my... lower back." Blake inhaled a sharp breath and gripped the steering wheel tightly.
"So I grabbed my pepper spray and sprayed the guy in the eyes, but my spray ran out after that. So one guy started pulling down my dress strap, and that was when... when you appeared," I admitted silently. I looked over at Blake. He had fury in his eyes and an unreadable expression on his face.
