This chapter is told by the POV of Devin
There is quite a bit of nerve damage and Tano Tano can't make artificial nerves or anything like that. They are heavy as all hell. I can't open or shut my hands with ease. But holy shit these arms are fucking sweet as fuck!
"Dude those are so cool!" Steven says running up to me and lifting one of my arms up to inspect it closer
"How do they work?" Antonio asks curiously
"They are pretty much hard wired into his old arms and are responsive to electrical currents such as the ones his brain sends to his real arms to get them to move. They need a steady flow of power to stay actively respondent, but his powers run enough electricity through his body to do that for him without him even trying" Tano Tano explains then shrugs "too bad I couldn't make them out of a lighter metal"
"Excuse me, aren't we forgetting something?" Madeline says tapping her foot repeatedly
"Yeah guys, we should get going to help our friends" Oliver says
"You're not going" I say looking at him
"What? Why?!" he pleas
"Because I don't want you to. This could go very wrong and I only want those that we absolutely need. Me. Antonio. Steven. And Beth. Nobody else" I reply not wanting any unnecessary lives to be in danger
"Yeah, that's funny" Levi says stepping up to me "you need us, and so do our friends"
"Either way, I have unfinished business with that invisible douchebag" Jessica says defiantly. I look into her eyes and know damn well that it is going to be way harder keeping her here than having her with us
"You can come. I will admit, you are the most skilled of us here. We could use your help. But everybody else stays. A small group will be unseen for longer than all of us will" I say and glare at Levi
"Fine." he says then pouts
"You all ready to go?" I say turning toward Antonio, Beth, and Steven
"Yeah, lets head out" Beth says and steps out from the hole in the wall. I follow, then Antonio, Jessica, then Steven in the back thinking about what's going to happen like always. We walk and walk until we get the neighborhood the school is in. We stop and look around before going onto school grounds. Its quite but seems a bit too quite. There's no birds or creaking or even wind. We continue walking around until we get to the front of the school. There's a huge wall surrounding the front yard of the school
"What the hell is this?" Steven asks running his hand along it
"It was built after the destruction" Beth says "there's no cracks or anything in it, the only wall that has no damage in this city"
"Which means that hockey bitch and his bitchlets built this" Jessica says also running her hand against the wall. Wow, she really likes the word bitch
"So what do we do?" Steven says
"We find the front door, walk in, and have a pretty princess tea party" Antonio says sarcastically. Seems like everybody is a bit on edge. We make it to the front of the wall, which is a large opening with a huge wooden door sealing it. I walk up and look the door up and down. Its huge, about ten feet tall but still about five feet shorter than the wall and crappily made.
"How do we get in? Do we try to open it? Do we knock? Do we-" Steven is cut off by me slamming my metal fist into the door shattering it to pieces
"We do that" Antonio says and walks in
"Well then, sweet" Jessica says following him. Me, Steven, and Beth follow behind. Inside is a large field with boys of all ages fighting against eachother with an occasional fire blast here and water spurt there. There seems to be at least 30 of them, way too many to easily beat on our own. I begin wishing we brought the others. A small boy near the back stops what he is doing and just continually stares at me. It's creepy. He begins to run towards me but is stopped by a tall fat boy older than me with a pony tail
"Welcome to hell's gates" the boy says "you must be here for Volt. I'm Shert. I run this place when the crew is gone"
"I don't care. Where is the bitch with the hockey mask?" Jessica says stepping forward and poking Shert's chest
"Volt! Visitors!!" he yells behind him and the front doors of the school come flying open. Out of them steps a short boy wearing a hockey mask and a leather jacket, probably with a red V on the back of it
"Well, if it isn't my favorite little future victims" Volt says in a harsh nasty sounding tone
"We're here. Give us back our friends and we wont kill you" I say pulling Jessica back
"No no no. That's not how this works. You three will face my best warriors. As a matter of fact, each of them has a personal grudge against you guys. Well, except the girl. Wasn't expecting anybody else to come. Oh well, Ill think of something. Anyway, for each battle won, which means you will have to attempt to kill my warriors, we will release a prisoner to you and move on to the next battle. For each battle lost, you lose the fighter. Sounds fun" Volt says and claps his hands and everybody in the yard but my group begins shouting and clapping and wooting at us
"Volt. I'm going to kill you. And all of your warriors" Antonio says pissed at these silly little games to decide his girlfriends fate "Unless you give me back Kelly"
"Oh shut up you worm!! You used to be considered tough, but we will see how strong you are when everybody around you has superpowers. Let the battles commence!!" Volt screams and everybody begins flocking into the building. Shert and a few other large followers escort us behind Volt into the school
"Sir, what do we do with the girl, we only have three prisoners, so only a fight for the three you planned for" Shert says looking back at Jessica. Volt stops and turns towards us. He points a finger at Jessica then points to the hallway that I know leads to the football field
"Feed her to Fang" he says and laughs as she is grabbed and dragged out of the doors
