17. What could be worse

"Shh!" Whispered Anna, "Or we'll be caught and the alpha will have our heads!"
"I don't see why it's such a big deal that we're just leaving the house?" I said fairly loudly.
"No one goes anywhere without him knowing, and certainly not his mate" replied Eve.
"Then why are we going?" I asked.
"Because you need clothes and some quality girl time!" Shrieked Chloe while everyone else shushed her quickly.
Through the maze of corridors we finally arrived at a garage. All lined up along the wall were cars after cars, it was amazing! The girls guided me towards a bright pink convertible. How could a car get any worse, it was like someone exploded a pink bomb into in and even that was generous. Somehow, despite my assassin training, they managed to force me into the car and we were off.

Remind me again why I agreed to this?" I questioned the girls.
"Because if you didn't, we'd have had to drag you out of the house against your will and I'm sure the alpha wouldn't have liked that!" Replied Chloe in a smug tone while I just rolled my eyes. Currently we were in the car on our way to the most dangerous mission I will ever go on - shopping! What?! It's like hell all stuffed into one buildings. I could face 29 rogues and probably kill all of them without trying but put me in a mall and you've successfully scared me to death.
You could easily tell that the girls all loved the experience so I'm just hoping we don't have to go often.

We soon finally finished the dangerous car journey - never, and I mean never, let Eve drive a car again. You are seriously risking your life. At the mall I was determined to stay in the car but everyone had other plans so dragged me yet again, this time out of the car.
We walked into the mall and I was met with the sight of squealing teenage girls and fashion. I quickly tried to turn around but Sophie was standing right behind me stopping me from escaping while the other three forced me forwards towards hell.

We flew into shop after shop and I don't think I've ever seen so many clothes. In my opinion, just a couple of black leggings and some simple t shirts would have been enough but no. I can't believe I even thought I'd get a say in anything as well - the girls were shopping for me, especially Chloe. They shoved all sorts of things into our trolley and soon it was loaded. There were shorts to skirts, top to shirts, all in every kind of colour you could think of. After I thought they'd bought the whole shop they pushed me into a changing room to try on everything. "I think I'm going to be here a while!" I said to myself.
By the end most of the pink things were a negative, as were all the skirts. They had to fight me to get me into one! So far I had bought about 6 coloured tops, a couple of pairs of leggings and shorts and a leather jacket. I was just about ready to go home when I was shoved into the changing room again and was handed a dress.
I quickly put it on, eager to get food and go home. I walked out of the changing room to find my waiting friends with shocked faces.
"What is it guys?" I asked, confused as to why they were all staring at me.
"Oh my gosh! You look amazing!" Squealed Anna.
"Yeh, sexy as hell too" said Chloe.
"Thanks guys but I'm not so sure-" I replied but stopped half way as I turned around to face the mirror. Staring back at me was a confident looking girl in a back to blue floor length ombré dress. It tied over one shoulder and had jewels on one side. In short, it looked amazing!
"I think this is the one for the ceremonies, don't you think?" I asked.
"Definitely" they all answered.
We quickly paid using Adrian's money - he'll be very cross with us by the end. Then we headed back to the car and drove home. It was still the same terrifying experience on the way back with Eve driving again. I don't know why the others let her do it for a second time.

When we got home we parked and walked into the house carrying our shopping. Once inside we saw a very very cross looking beta and alpha.
"Oh shit" I mumbled.
"Yep my love, that is exactly the right words to use" answered a cocky but angry Adrian. "Where did you go girls and why did you think it was ok to leave without my permission?"
"Adie" said Chloe, "We just wanted to buy some clothes for Rae and I think you'll be happy with some of the choices too!"
"What?!" I shouted because I hadn't really paid attention to what went into the trolley and was now expecting the worst.
"That's still not acceptable but you're lucky it the pack ceremony now or you'd all be in big trouble" said Adrian and he pull me against his rock hard chest. "You still are my love and I think you'll find the punishment very...enjoyable" he whispered.
"Punishment" I shrieked, my mind already going over all the possibilities.
"Yep" mused Adrian. "Well then girls, I suppose you have to go get my mate really for the ceremony. Be sure to make her look delicious"
"Don't worry, we will" replied Chloe with confidence as she led me upstairs to her room along with the new dress. "Shower now and quickly" she ordered on the way up the stairs.

Once we were on the right floor, I was quickly shoved into a room and then plowed into a bathroom. Eve and Chloe followed me inside and told me where everything was and to do the whole works - whatever that means. They then left and I got in the shower. The hot water felt amazing on my back but I had to stop at some point so got out and wrapped myself in one of the many fluffy towels. I walked out the room and saw some matching black underwear along with my dress. I quickly put everything on just as the girls walked back into the room, talk about good timing, and sat me down to start the long process of getting me ready.
"Please don't put too much makeup on me" I asked.
"Course not, you're beautiful anyway and wouldn't want you looking like that slut Sylvia would we?" Teased Chloe as I only growled in response, remember the clown clinging onto my mates arm.
Soon we were ready and the girls left to get themselves ready, giving me a few moment to think. I started looking around the room. The first thing I noticed was the black theme: everything was black, from the sheets to the carpets. Then I noticed the door next to the bathroom. I walked over and looked inside. Half of it was full of men's clothes and the other half was full of the clothes I'd bought today, strange. I walked back out and saw a photo sitting in the dresser. It had a family of two young boys and their parents all huddled together. As I was looking at it I suddenly felt a pair of hands on my waist and jumped about ten feet in the air. I spun around and saw Adrian standing there with a smirk on his face. He was wearing a black suit with looked perfect on him.
"Did I scare you my love?" He teased.
"N-no, of course not" I managed to make out "I was just deep in thought, that's all"
"That's me and my family" Adrian murmured so quietly that I could have missed it.
"You have a brother?"I asked
"Yes, but I never see him. He sticks to his own territory" he answers. Ok...? "You look positively edible my darling"
"Er, thanks. What's with all the pet names anyway?"
"Shall we get a move in then?" He volunteers as he leads me out, completely ignoring my question. Without thought I unhook my arm from his and march on ahead. It's only then do I realise I don't know where I'm going and have to slow down, not that I like the idea. After many twists and turns we make it outside and go to the edge of the trees where the girls are waiting for me.
"I have to leave now mate" Adrian told me and carried on walking into the woods.
I must have looked confused because Chloe tells me that he has to announce me to the pack before I can be seen. I just rolled my eyes.
They led me towards where Adrian had just walked and pretty soon we get to a clearing where multiple people are waiting in a circle. I looked around and saw my mate standing in the middle by a stone with some water and a knife.
All around him were daisies. I froze as memories washed back over me with a powerful force. No one noticed but Adrian and I saw him try to say something but I couldn't hear him. I tried telling him to speak louder but my voice wouldn't work. It just took one thought then I turned and ran.
Away, away from my mate.

*Adrian's POV*

Oh shit, why did she run. One moment she was just standing there, looking a vision of a goddess, and the next moment noting was there at all. She was so fast and just shot out of the clearing like a bullet. I saw no one had noticed but me, my sister and her friends. I quickly mindlinked them to keep everyone distracted as I went and searched for my mate.
"Why did mate run?" questioned my wolf, Jasper.
"I don't know Jasper, I just hope we can find her" I answered sadly and he didn't answer.
Quickly I shifted into my wolf and sped into the woods. I kept following her sent of strawberries until it stopped at the base of a tree. I looked up and saw my little mate sitting on one of the branches.

*Rae's POV*

Why'd he have to find me so damn fast?! I heard him calling me down so to save trouble I climbed down quickly. As soon as I got on the ground I was met with a kiss from Adrian. He pressed me hard into the tree but then let go leaving a wanting feel within me.
"Why did you run away? You are mine and you will never leave!" He shouted and started tugging me in the direction I ran from not giving me a chance to explain.
