After I passed the border I felt as though a large rock had been lifted off my shoulders. I ran and ran until my legs were screaming for a breaking and there was a massive stitch on my left side. Because I was the omega I wasn't allowed to train so as you can see, I am very unfit.
I spotted a clearing with a small stream up ahead with the help of Luna and carried on at my slow pace until I got there. It was very beautiful and the early flowers were just coming out from the hard ground. The little stream trickled past, gently flowing down the riverbank. Little fish were playing in the water and I could hear the birds of the wood calling to each other.
I sat down on the soft grass and admired the view while getting my breath back.
^Can we just wait here for a sec?^ asked Luna.
^Sure, is anything wrong?^ I replied feeling a bit worried.
^You'll find out soon^ Was the only answer I seemed to get. After that my head went quiet. I wonder what's going on, nothing bad I hope.
All at once the forest seemed to go quiet, no birds or wind or anything. I wonder what is happening? My eyes were then overloaded by the brightness of a light shinning straight at me. Once the light dimmed, it seemed like I was in a forest much like the one before but there was a difference. Bending down at the stream was a dark coloured wolf drink the water.
I moved forward and then it lifted its head and looked straight at me. For some reason, the paralysing fear that should have frozen me wasn't there. Instead it was replaced with a undeniable urge to reach the creature. It was imperative that I get to it.
I cautiously creeped forward until I was an arms length away, still looking into it's swirling silver eyes. Caught in the beasts hypnotic gaze.
I reached out to touch it, half expecting it to either run away or attack me but it did neither of those options. The animal came towards me and met my hand. As soon as it touched it, the creature disappeared and it seemed like I was back in the original wood. The relief was short lived when all of a sudden, I felt an aching pain in my back. The pain increased and soon became too much.
I screamed before the next crack came from my arms. They were bent in a grotesque way, similar to my back. Then the cracks came again and my next scream echoed around the forest until my voice went horse. Blood-curdling to even the devil. It felt like someone was shattering all of my bones in my body at once.
I heard another crack and then a new wave of pain came from my legs. I twisted and shivered, trying to get the pain to stop. I let out another ear-splitting shriek and I was now covered in sweat. Next the same crack was heard coming from my arms though this time. It was like someone had cut me a million time with a silver knife and then was pouring hot acid on the cuts. Tears flowed freely from my eyes as the pain continued. I wish for it to be over but the relief was never granted.
^It's almost over little one, calm down^ soothed Luna through the blinding pain.
^But it really hurts Luna!^ I panted.
^Shush, it's alright^ was all she said.
My neck broke next. The pain became too much. My vision began to fade and soon the agony faded.Once I woke up I felt really odd. The pain was gone and all was left was a dull ache. I tried to stand up (key word: tried) but soon toppled to the floor. I looked down and saw two large paws.
"What on earth!" I said while trying to see the rest of me and soon discovering two more furry legs.
^This is your wolf little one. Try and stand up and then go and look in the stream to see what colour you are^ said Luna
^Thank God your still here Luna.^
^I would never leave you^I carefully placed one paw firmly on the ground and heaved the rest of me up to stand on four wobbly legs. Slowly I plodded over to the stream and gazed in.
I didn't see a girl in the water but a wolf staring me back. I turned around to admire myself. My wolf was pitch black as night with a small white crescent shaped white mark on my forehead. My large paws were the size of plates and I was easily above the high of an alpha. Wow, I am amazing and rare. Most wolfs were colours like grey, brown or cream but never had I ever seen a black wolf!
^This is what I look like little one. I case you haven't already guessed, we are special. There hasn't been another wolf like us in the last 1000 years! We are faster, stronger and can speak to the moon goddess.^
^Are you sure Luna? And wow! Can I speak to the moon goddess now?^ I asked, still not really believing much of this.
^Of course and yes you can, if you want, little one.^ Luna answered.
^Thank you Luna and by the way, you are a beautiful wolf^
^Thank you^
