*Aiko's perspective*

The atmosphere of the large luxurious room Kiyomi and I shared was gloomy, for obvious reasons. We were both content with silently sulking to ourselves. The only discussion being about what wardrobe was suitable for the occasion. Anyone else would find this odd but it was understandable between us that this was our way of coping with something that seemed greater than us.

A knock on our door broke the heart wrenching silence and an awkward Kankuro strolled in with bouquets of flowers, one of white daisies and yellow daffodils, then another with soft pastel pink lilies. He handed the daisies and daffodils to me and the other to Kiyomi, already knowing they were our favourite flowers.

I accepted it with a nod of acknowledgment and Kiyomi murmured a soft.

"Thank you" as she sniffed in the aroma that now danced around our room. Today was the day where everyone was to come together to acknowledge the death of Minyo.

"It's almost time guys and you're not even dressed" he said disapprovingly with a teasing undertone. "I could help with that" he said while suggestively wiggling his eyebrows. Being his usual provocative self trying to lighten to mood. Usually I would laugh , scoff or even play along until Kiyomi would playfully hit us in disgust but today I just wasn't having it. Kiyomi smiled as a way of thanking him for his efforts of making us feel better.

As I put my flowers softly on my pillow the door swung open aggressively and an annoyed Temari bursted in, her eyes were harsh as she saw Kankuro, knowing he was most likely childishly pestering us. But her eyes softened once she saw Kiyomi's and I's unamused watery gazes.

"Please don't tell me you're bothering these poor girls" Temari said shaking her head and placing a hand on her hip. "Those dresses are pretty girls, I really don't mean to rush you but we should start going soon" she said and gave us each a quick hug and began to drag Kankuro out of the room by his ear.

Temari was always in between a mother and a fun older sister for us, depending on the situation but she was always fair and rational which was a quality I admired greatly.

Once the door closed I began to strip of my baggy pajamas that once belonged to Minyo, I had the top and Kiyomi had the bottoms. The smell of him still lingered and it was something that undoubtedly comforted us.

Kiyomi followed my actions and soon we were dressed in our funeral outfits. Mine was a long black lace dress that was tight up to my upper thigh then gently cascaded down my legs giving a elegant gloomy look but still showed off my figure.

Kiyomi's dress was black satin that was tight fitted and stopped just below her knee, with a v-neck that showed off a tasteful amount of cleavage, she slid her black pearl earrings that complimented her eyes. We both paired our look with heels and our favourite matching necklaces of a small sapphire blue bird on a silver chain that laid delicately between our collar bones.

I sprayed myself with my favourite perfume that was a mix of floral and vanilla and Kiyomi stretched her neck out signaling me to spray her to which I did but it somehow managed to go up her nose due to my forever astounding clumsiness.

We looked at each other and burst out laughing, a sound that wasn't heard for a while. As it was dying down another knock was heard and an extra handsome Gaara sensei walked in, quickly glancing at us and nodding in approval of our choices he told us to meet him outside in five minutes where our transportation awaits.

I took one last glance in the full length mirror and pushed a strand of hair that fell out of my bun behind my ear and Kiyomi pulled her hair into a half up style that complemented her look.
