Part One: 2, a feather falls

*Kiyomi's Perspective*

"Well what are you waiting for?" Gaara stated challengingly. Gaara looked back at us giving us a reassuring nod. We hadn't been in an actual battle in the longest time, Gaara sensei had us so focused on training that we haven't had time to go on to missions.

In any other circumstance, I would have been confident. But the fact that this man has been able to take down Gaara, puts me in an uneasy state of mind. I think Aiko sensed my worry, she grabbed my hand and squeezed it.

"Have faith in our sensei, he knows what he's doing" She whispered reassuringly. I glanced over at Minyo, his face was hard to read, his fists were clenched in rage. All attention was on Gaara but it was clear that he wasn't their main concern. Deidara dodged Gaara's attacks and slyly made his way towards the three of us.

Tobi saw this and tried to corner us but Gaara wouldn't allow it, Gaara moved quickly and swiftly.

"Sensei we can defend ourselves!" Minyo yelled in anger.

"Be quiet" Gaara sneered which caught our attention, we had never seen this side of Gaara, he was hardly ever stern with us. "You don't know how strong this man really is, he's a member of the Akatsuki" Gaara added coldly.

These very few seconds of conversation caught us off guard and gave a chance to allow one of Deidara's little balls of clay destruction to be thrown in our proximity but Minyo was quick to throw it far away before it got a chance to detonate.

"Looks like you little brats aren't as slow as I thought. At least this time I came prepared" Deidara quipped. I had done nothing but I could feel my heart begin to race. A droplet of sweat ran down my face as my thoughts began to consume me, imagining the worst case scenario.

"My goodness Deidara, are you just going to stand there and do nothing?" Tobi giggled.

"Be quiet Tobi, you're practically useless. How you even became a Akatsuki member baffles me." Deidara yelled. With that Tobi suddenly vanished and reappeared behind Aiko, I guess things were now about to get serious. It took her a second to realize what just happened. For a moment she was frozen in shock but was quick to defend herself with a kunai. Gaara ran over to Aiko and Tobi , separating them with a wall of sand that was solid enough to make Tobi hit it with a thump.

I was about to giggle but knew it wasn't the time or place, just standing here uselessly was driving me insane, but there wasn't much I could do. Minyo has always been sharp and even though he's slow to learn he always somehow is more advanced than us. He came to my side and screamed

"Vacuum wave!" sharp ripples of wind surrounded us and caused Deidara's left cloak sleeve to rip off, exposing a deep gash that was the result of Minyo's technique.

"This one seems troublesome" Tobi said in an odd cheerful tone as he appeared next to Minyo and drove a sharp kunai into his right shoulder. "That should slow him down a bit" He giggled triumphantly as Minyo grunted in pain and fell over while clutching his gushing, now wounded shoulder. An audible shriek of horror was heard from Aiko and I had to hold her back from running to him , it'll only turn out worse if we get in his way.

Minyo picked himself off the floor ,

"Now you've done it" he grumbled lowly causing me and Aiko to look at Gaara who was now absolutely furious. I could feel how mad he was and when I looked at Aiko I could tell she was frustrated as well.

"Sand coffin!"Gaara proclaimed as a huge mass of sand rose and formed a coffin shape around Tobi , crushing him instantly. Or so it seemed, he reemerged beside it and leaned on it cooly.
