It passed a week.
Seven days since Effy fell in Duff's arms.
And once she fell in, she never got up.
She didn't leave his side for the entire week.
Strange thing coming from her, don't you think?
Elizabeth is in a vulnerable state. Every time she thinks about leaving Duff, her head spines around. She knows she has too, she knows it too well and she just has a week left.
"Please, do never do this again." He cries with his face buried on the crock of her neck. "I love you so much."
"I love you too."
The memory flashes through her mind. She told Michael something she had never told anyone else. She doesn't even know if those words spoke the truth or not.
We all know that she does, that she loves him.
But she can't believe herself.
It's a foreign feeling for her.
She's never loved someone before.
She doesn't know how it's like.
Duff sat up on the bad and put on his shoes.
Effy watches him with a frown.
"Where are you going?" She asks.
Elizabeth is turning really clinging. She doesn't know why. She's not clingy. But with Duff, she is.
She likes his company, his warmth, his sent.
She likes to run her fingers through his long blonde bleached hair and to kiss his skin.
"I'll be back in a couple of hours." He replied, making Effy pout. "I want you to be ready when I arrive. I'm taking you out."
"Are you taking me out for a date, Mckagan?" She smirks.
"I don't you don't go to dates, but I know I'm an exception." He grins and leans down, kissing her.
Her hands are quickly placed on his neck, pulling him closer and deepening the kiss that in a second turns really heated.
He pulls away and smiles down at her. Of course, she smiles back. "I've got to go now, go annoy Izzy, he's downstairs." He says before pecking her lips once again and gets out of the room.
She gets up and dresses some Duff's shirt that's laid on a chair and walks down stairs, finding Izzy sat on the couch smoking a cigarette and watching TV.
"Hello Mr. Too Cool To Say My Real Name." She says as she grabs the cigarette's pack that was on the arm of the couch. She places a cigarette between her lips and lits it up, taking a big drag.
"Hey." He says.
"What are you up too?" She asks, sitting down beside him.
"What are you up to?" He asks back. "You look happy."
"That's because I am." She simply shrugs with a smile on her face and bring the cigarette to her lips.
"Good to hear. It's good to see you smile again."
Before Effy could say anything else, the phone started ringing.
"I'll go." She tells him setting up from the couch. She grabs the phone and leans it on her ear. "Hello?"
"Eff." The person on the other side of the line gasps. It's Sally. "You're alive!"
"Yes I am." Effy chuckles. "Thanks for thinking I was dead."
"Shut up!" Sally exclaims. "I was worried about you!"
"I'm sorry." Elizabeth sighs, leaning against the wall. "I worried everyone. But I'm better know."
