The Woods

Chris' POV

I sat at the dinning room table with my laptop, waiting for Stephanie to come back from Mike's room. I went through the emails one of my publicty agents sent me. My main publicity agent's nickname was Jessica Holly Woods but everyone called her Holly. When she first told me her name I thought she was kidding but apparently everyone knew the 'Woods' family.

Holly is only around maybe 17 years old but I heard her whole family works in publicity and tabloids. Holly is like the heir to the tabloid dynasty, and a bit of a bitch. One of the most recent emails she sent me was about Stephanie. I looked around then opened it. The email had all the basic information you could know about about a person. You could never be too careful with the people you surround yourself with when you're famous.

I learned that Stephanie was raised in New York and is 21 now. I glanced at the top screen to where her whole name would be, it only said 'Stephanie". I knew she had a middle name that started with an H. It gave me a weird feeling but I kept reading.

I learned about the schools Stephanie went to, that she dropped out of college earlier this year. I learned she and her sister Lisa were raised by a single mother in different burrows of NYC. I learned her mother died from an unknown cause when Stephanie was 19. Stephanie traveled a lot then got a ton of money when she turned 21 in May and hasnt had a job since. Then I learned she was supposee to get married in May but didn't. Holly got Stephanie's phone number and all her texts and phone calls. I was pretty sure that was illegal, but with Holly you just dont ask how she gets information. At the bottom it said, 'Be careful, more info soon'.... Be careful?

Nothing looked suspicious except that according to this file, Stephanie had no last name and a couple other things were missing. I called my personal private investigator, Carlos, and gave him the number Holly gave me. i asked him the name of the person who owned this phone number. He texted me 15 minutes later, "Stephanie Holly Woods".

I felt sick. She was apart of the Woods family. They were a scary family who controlled the lives and careers of stars. they controlled everything from shows like TMZ to magazines like PEOPLE and one of them was in my hotel room. I wondered why she didnt tell me, then I dawned on me I never even asked.

She came in the room and sat down on the couch and started watching TV. My head filled with questions. What was she doing here?

I was starring but when she turned around, I couldn't turn away.

Stephanie: What?

Me: Whats... Whats your name?

Stephanie: ...Stephanie. Are you okay?

Then I remembered Holly had said to 'be careful', maybe Stephanie was undercover. Maybe I wasn't supposed to know she was a 'Woods'.

Me: Oh, yeah. I just need to talk to Mike.

I went into the hallway and was about to knock on Mike's door when my phone rang. My phone blinked 'Lily Holly Woods', Jessica Holly Woods' secretary. I looked at the camera in the hallway, the Woods family was watching my every move.

Me: Hello

Lily: Go back to your room, Chris.

Me: What are you guys doing? Sending a spy?

Lily: She doesn't know.

Me: What do you mean she doesn't know?

Lily: Chris you read her file, shes never met her dad, Holly's dad. She doesnt know anything about the Woods family. She doesn't know who we are, or what we do. She never needed us and shes too nice to do what we do anyway. Her dad gave her a couple grand when she turned 21 and now she's completely apart from us. She has her other sister and-
