  Little Bella ran up the stairs to her bedroom crying,she had just heard her parents fighting again ,she called out to me. Scarlett are you there?Right here sweetie what happened this time?My mommy confronted my daddy about him seeing some lady named Margaret she told him to stop or she file for a divorce he said she didn't need to that he already had and threw some papers at her then mommy burst out crying and cussed my daddy out and she threw a vase at him and he called her a psychotic b-word and now they won't stop fighting Bella rushed out.She started crying even harder do you think my parents are going to separate?I don't know Bella at this point her crying became so loud her parents heard her and stopped fighting for a moment but then  her mother threw a picture frame at her father and Bella was completely forgotten.But hey Bella listen no matter what happens you'll always have me.Promise?-She asked between sobs.Promise.She hugged me and fell asleep in my arms while I was singing her the lullaby she always used to fall asleep to as a baby.I tucked her in and kissed her forehead goodnight.

I was assigned to Bella's case a few months ago when her parents started having problems and Bella had no one to turn to.Who am I? What am I you ask? I'm Scarlett Beckett and I'm a Jemstale. Jemstales are basically imaginary friends Jemstales were created a long time ago when children first started needing other people to turn to because they had no one else.I was created in the 2000's where I watched and provided guidance for a little boy named Max who's mother and older sister had just died in a car crash Max was now an only child and his father who stopped drinking when he met Max's mother quickly picked up his old habits leaving Max to grief on his own.None of the Jemstales were compatible with Max so I was created.A seventeen-year-old girl with auburn hair, grey eyes , and a pale complexion I looked exactly like his deceased seventeen-year-old sister so basically a younger version of his mother.Max was seven at the time we grew really close I helped him with whatever he needed homework,chores,etc.I was there when he needed help grieving and for the first couple of years, he and I did everything together nothing mattered to him as long as I was by his side no even the fact that he was the only one who could see me.However, everything changed when he turned 10 he made tons of new friends  who he now did everything with I was happy for him but I knew my time was up,he didn't need me anymore. He called out to me less and less he stopped calling out to me everyday and only called out to me every week,then every three weeks, and finally every month and finally on his eleventh birthday he called out to me one last time he wanted me to be there when he confronted his father about his drinking problem.

We walked down the stairs hand in hand and entered his father's room together he was lying on the bed watching T.V with a beer in his hand.Dad, we have to talk.Max's dad Cruz looked up,"about what he said harshly".Max looked up at me I gave him a reassuring smile and squeezed his hand in a comforting way.Your drinking problem Max said his confidence back. After a while of talking Max was finally able to talk some sense into Cruz. Cruz finally realized that Max's mom and sister's death had also impacted Max and that even though his wife and daughter had passed away he still had a son who needed him very much.Cruz called up his twenty-eight-year-old sister to watch over Max while he went to rehab.After Cruz made the call he grabbed all the beer bottles in his room and dumped them out.He went to the kitchen and once again started dumping out the beer bottle's content.Max watched from the kitchen doorway with a smile on his face.He looked up at me but this time to say goodbye.I bent down and Max immediately attacked me with a bear hug.I will always remember you Scarlett Thank You for everything you have done for me I will always love you but I think it's time for us to say goodbye.With tears in my eyes and my heart in my throat I kissed his cheek and his forehead goodbye.Bye Scarlett.Bye Max.He gave me one more hug before he ran off to join his dad in dumping the beer bottles.

As soon as a kid bids you goodbye you return to  the Jemstale world where you await your next case, the wait can be from days to years some Jemstales never get a case again.If you go thirty years without a case the council declares you Stan which means you fade out never to be seen again the council started doing this a couples years back when the Jemstale World got way to overcrowded and they needed a way of getting rid of Jemstales. .But other than fading out Jemstales are pretty much immortal which I guess is cool but besides friends you really don't have a family or anybody else no one has parents since they were created from children's needs, not a man and a woman getting together.All Jemstales are between ages 9-21.Jemstales never age so if you were created at nine years old you will forever be nine. The only people who pass 21 is the Jemstale council there not really Jemstales themselves there Manlik people who take care of Jemstales though you could hardly call them family all they care about is you not revealing yourself to humans. Jemstales are not allowed to date other Jemstales because the council fears it will interfere with our work there are severe punishments if they find out you're dating an another Jemstale.You can only date humans if your true soulmate finds you.You see every human has multiple compatible human soulmates and one Jemstale soulmate, most people find and end up with one of their human soulmates there are few humans who end up with Jemstales.

Even if humans somehow find there Jemstale soulmates they most of the time treat them as freaks and reject them. Lucie my closet Jemstale friend was in risk of being declared Stan because  Sophia the beautiful brown curly-haired, hazel- eyed,honey colored skin,and extremely kind ballerina who was created by a little girl named Dera became the Jemstale who mostly every kid was compatible with she unintentionally took Lucie's spot because while she was really similar to Sophie people preferred Sophie over her. While Sophia worked on thousands of cases at a time Lucie had no cases to work on.Luckly for Lucie her soulmate Finn found her and they fell in love.There's a rule that if a human falls in love with there Jemstale soulmate they get to live with them and not fade out. Lucie went to live with Finn in the human world she lost her immortality but that was fine with her because it meant she didn't have to keep on living forever after her soulmate died.I miss not seeing her every day but I know she's happy with Finn and I still stop by her house a few times a month between my visits for Bella.I was looking over some of Bella's paperwork when I suddenly heard Bella's voice calling for me immediately I was transported to her room.As soon as I saw her I knew something was wrong.
