Skylar's POV
I stirred in my ever so comfortable bed, not ready to start the day. The light from the rest of the house beamed under my door. Everyone was out and about while I debated how long before I decided to get up. I could hear Kyle stampeding in and out of his room with his heavy feet, hence the reason I'm up in the first place. Downstairs mom was throwing whatever she could find in the fridge into the skillet. The smell lingered throughout the entire house, making my stomach turn a bit. My dad was most likely at the table with coffee and the paper waiting for breakfast. As for Carly, there was no telling what she was up to, whatever it was I'm sure it has to do WCHS drama. And I'm sure as soon as I start to interacting with her, I'll hear all about it. It was all a cycle. I've become all too familiar with the Bauer family's morning routine over the past 16 years.
After I stretched and yawned a few more times I forced myself to toss the covers off of me. I instantly regretted it, my body was basically stomped out by the cool air. Exhaling loudly while rising from the bed, I tip-toed across the floor to the warmer carpet in the hall then into my bathroom. The light made me squint while I stared at myself in the mirror. My too long blonde hair was all over the place, and at its peak of being messy. I adjusted my uneven waistband of my boxers, pulling the lower half over my v-line.
I started my routine, which like everyone else's became a daily must to my body. I took a leak, and made sure to put the seat down, not trying to hear "Skye, I tell you like everyday, is it really that hard?" Next I had to fix this mess of a head. My comb was somewhere in the aftermath of the storm, which is Carly's morning bathroom agenda.
Something ran into me, causing me to knock over some of the bottles and containers on the counter.
"Woah!" I yelled before turning around. Everyone in this house knows I'm not a morning person, but they continue to test me anyway. I looked up to see Kyle. If it had been any other day I would've been pissed, Kyle can have one get out of jail free card on account that I've missed him. However, that didn't stop me from giving him a harsh glare before turning back around.
"Someone's a little cranky this morning." Kyle laughed. I looked at him through the mirror and gave another glare.
Kyle, like I expected, had on his boots with some jeans tucked in them. A heavy jacket covered an old plaid button down. Kyle was a very handsome young man. For being only a little more than a couple years older, he was much bigger than me in height, and especially in muscle mass. His short hair looked extra curly this morning.
"Mom wants to know if you feel like going to church, or do you want rest before you go back to school?" he asked me. Looking at me through the mirror as I brushed my teeth. His question made me think as I bent over to spit into the sink. I haven't been to church since I left and I really want and need to. I knew what my mom wanted Kyle to come back and tell her, but I had a lot to do in one day.
"Actually, I have a buch of stuff I need to do." I said walking back into my room with Kyle behind me still listening. "I need to go down to the gym and set up my hours with Bam. I haven't been school shopping. I've got to go on the school's site and try to print out my schedule. And--"
"Alright, kid." Kyle said shaking his head. If I wasn't going then mom would tell Kyle, Carly, and Chris to just stay at home, too. He would use it as an excuse to eat and play Xbox all day.
"You feel like driving me today?" I said in a lot nicer tone I'd been using the whole conversation.
"Breakfast!!" mom yelled from downstairs. Kyle used as an excuse to avoid my question.
"See you downstairs, kid." he said waking quickly out of the room. I rolled my eyes and combed my fingers through my hair. Kyle peeped his head back into my room. "Oh and put some pants on, I still have company." he disappeared again and I heard his boots beating the stairs as he trotted down them.
