I can't get used to the horn. It feels natural in some ways, but to the point where I forget it's there sometimes and accidently nuzzle someone and then they have a scratch down their face, or I bonk into a tree and I can't get out.

Overall, just plain awkward. Luckily, Torch has his newfound power under control- he can snuff out the flames at the end of his tail and on his head at a moments notice. (Which is nice, because otherwise he would've burned the forest down.) He might've burned down a few trees, but apparently forest fires are good for forests. They still aren't good for the surrounding Canira, but I end up being taking care of the little ones regardless of if Torch burns down their houses by sneezing or not. They just like me.

I finally have to put an end to it because Canira start offering me sweetbark if I can help make Torch stop. It's not his fault, but we end up keeping him in the house.

"I'm not a pup, Avery." he says, obviously annoyed.

"I know, but fire doesn't mix with forest. Do you want to get us kicked out?"

"No."

"Good."

"Yeah, good!" says a little Twig Canira on my shoulder. His name is Toni and he's been hanging around for a while. I barely notice him most of the time, but when it comes to confrontation with anyone, he's always joining in.

"Toni, leave Torch alone. Go play with Mr. Muffin."

Toni scampers over to my PowerPet and begins playing. "Mr. Muffin is at level 30!" He calls over, "Should I go for the Powder Spore upgrade or save up for a minigame?"

"I like the minigames." I yell over, and then turn back to Torch. "They don't really hate you, Torch. They're just poking some fun at you. Here, they gave us a bunch of sweetbark! You can have some."

Torch looks at me, annoyed, but ends up taking the sweetbark anyways, crunching on it warily.

"I got in trouble today too, you know."

"How dith Ms. Goody-goody geth in touble?" he says with his mouth full, bark crumbs flying everywhere.

"I ran into a tree, and when I tried to get my horn out, I ended up flinging the tree into the river. Riana was pissed off at me."

Torch chokes on his sweetbark, and begins laughing at the same time. "YOU THREW A TREE INTO THE RIVER?!" He says finally, snorting sweetbark out of his nose, is silent for a second, and bursts out laughing again.

"Yeah." I say, chuckling nervously along with him.

We still might be getting used to our powers, but the sign hasn't come either. The last week has been a learning experience for all of us, but how long will we have to enjoy this?
