Chapter 10

Kellin's POV

We sat in comfortable silence on the way to the Fuentes' brothers house. I just stared out the window looking at all the beautiful things around me. 

"Hey Kellin, why are you staring out the window like you've never seen outside the town before?" Jaime laughed.

I gulped and whispered " Because i haven't" 

They all whipped their heads around and stared at me with disbelief. Suddenly i felt really ashamed and embarrassed. In a way, this was worse than having buckets of cold custard poured on me. 

" So you've never seen outside the town?" Vic asked " How come?"

I figured that they deserved an explanation. " Uh actually I've never r-really b-been anywhere" i replied quietly. " I've only ever been to my uh, um, h-h-house, the liquor store, school and the park"

I saw them all look at each other in confusion. " So out of all places you could have gone, why the liquor store?" Mike questioned.

Shit. How was i going to explain to them that every time my mother runs out of drink i'm the one forced to buy it from the shop. The guy at the store doesn't even bother IDing me anymore. He just sells me the stuff because he's seen what happens if i don't. I never told him and he never asked but deep down i know he knows.

"U-uh my uh u-h" My breathing was going again. God dammit not now please! Quickly i started to hyperventilate and black spots were clouding my vision. I felt the car being pulled over and heard all the doors slamming. The car door next to me opened and i saw Tony grabbing my shoulders. As soon as he touched me i flinched back and curled into a ball hiding my face to protect myself.

He quickly recoiled but stayed in front of me. Faintly in the distance i could hear him asking me to calm down and he was trying to steady my breathing but nothing was working. 

I started to claw at my neck, desperately trying to get some oxygen, but it was no use. Soon enough i felt my eyelids become heavy and everything that was beautiful around me disappeared.

-- Time skip to when they arrive --

Slowly i pried my eyes open taking in my surroundings. I wasn't in my hell of a home. I was in what looked like a mansion to me. I slowly sat up, wincing as my cuts and bruises started to sting. 

The guys must have heard me wake up as soon they all came hurdling into the room, bombarding me with questions.

" Oh my God how are you?" Jaime asked, the panic clear on his face.

" I'm sorry" I whispered. I felt like burden to them.

"No no Kells don't be sorry," Vic whispered crouching down so he could face me. " It wasn't your fault."

"How would you like to shower?" Mike asked

Suddenly my head shot up. A shower. An actual shower. Did they have hot water? Was this all a joke? At first i was hesitant but quickly agreed.

" Wait so, I-I'm allowed an a-actual s-shower?" I asked, my face laced with confusion. 

The guys gave each other weird looks. " Well, yes of course" Mike said, his eyebrows furrowed. 

" Just turn the dial on the the side and that adjusts the temperature. Have it as hot or cold as you like"

I looked up at the guys shocked. " You mean that you have hot water?" i asked hopefully. 

"Duh, of course" the guys laughed.

However their faces changed as soon as they saw that i wasn't laughing with them. Their faces dropped.

" Kellin do you not have any hot water at your house?" Mike asked feebly.

"Uh no?" i asked, scratching the back of my neck. " Is t-that a b-bad thing?"

" No no, nothing wrong with that" The guys said but by the way that they said it i could see that it wasn't the answer that they were expecting.

" Uh ill have that shower now if its alright with you"

" Yeah yeah of course" Vic replied handing me a clean,neatly folded, fluffy white towel.

I disappeared into the bathroom and my eyes opened in amazement. I could hear them all whispering about something back in the bedroom but i didn't care. 

I stepped into the shower and felt the most relaxed i had in years, under the scorching hot water.
